Another day, another saga in the infamous Twitter files.
Elon Musk just terminated James Baker, who was Twitter’s general counsel.
Musk cited Baker’s alleged role in helping to censor the Hunter Biden laptop story on Twitter.
Baker was hired by Twitter as deputy general counsel after a short stint in the FBI, where he was allegedly forced out.
“In light of concerns about Baker’s possible role in suppression of information important to the public dialogue, he was exited from Twitter today,” Musk said on Twitter.
This is just the latest example of the extreme steps Twitter took to censor the Biden story before the 2020 election.

Daily Mail broke the story:
Chief Twit Elon Musk has fired Twitter’s general counsel James A. Baker, citing his alleged involvement in the company’s suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal.
‘In light of concerns about Baker’s possible role in suppression of information important to the public dialogue, he was exited from Twitter today,’ Musk wrote in a tweet on Tuesday.

The Post Millennial has more:
Musk said that Baker’s explanation was “unconvincing” once he was confronted.
The Twitter files included revelations that “Twitter took extraordinary steps to suppress the [Hunter Biden laptop] story, removing links and posting warnings that it may be ‘unsafe.’ They even blocked its transmission via direct message, a tool hitherto reserved for extreme cases, e.g. child pornography.
“White House spokeswoman Kaleigh McEnany was locked out of her account for tweeting about the story, prompting a furious letter from Trump campaign staffer Mike Hahn, who seethed: ‘At least pretend to care for the next 20 days.
“This led public policy executive Caroline Strom to send out a polite WTF query. Several employees noted that there was tension between the comms/policy teams, who had little/less control over moderation, and the safety/trust teams,” journalist Matt Taibbi revealed in a lengthy thread released on Friday.

Twitter's former top attorney James Baker was formerly an FBI attorney who passed on fake dirt from the Hillary campaign’s operatives in 2016, alleging a secret online portal from Russia's Alfa Bank to Trump. Now attempted to shape the “Twitter Files.” https://t.co/uVbUX3Rdze
