Missouri Man Robbed Bank Using Demand Note Written On His OWN Birth Certificate

Stupidity at its finest.

A man in Missouri recently robbed a bank using a demand note that was his own birth certificate.

Michael Conley Loyd robbed a Bank of America branch in Springfield, Missouri by writing “Give Your Money Now. Don’t Say Anything. I Have A Partner Outside” on the back of his birth certificate.

After robbing the bank for $754 dollars, Loyd became extremely paranoid and ended up throwing out all of the money along with his id and birth certificate.

He was later arrested inside his home after authorities received a tip about Loyd’s whereabouts.

The New York Post dropped these details:

A Missouri man robbed a bank using a demand note written on the back of his own birth certificate — while he was also wearing an ankle monitor related to an earlier offense.

Michael Conley Loyd, 30, pleaded guilty to robbing a Bank of America branch in Springfield last summer — and said he did it to “prove a point” to his lover, though it’s unclear what point he was trying to make.

Loyd entered his plea to one count of bank robbery in federal court on Friday, according to a Department of Justice press release.

In July, Loyd stole $754 from the local Bank of America branch after giving a bank teller a note written on the back of his birth certificate that read, “Give Your Money Now. Don’t Say Anything. I Have A Partner Outside.”

As he drove away from the bank, Loyd saw police cars responding to the robbery, causing him to become so scared, he threw the money out of the truck along with his birth certificate and ID. He allegedly then texted his roommate to say that her truck was stolen and that she should listen to the police scanner.

The Miami Herald got the scoop too:

Wanting to “prove a point” to his lover during an argument, federal investigators say a Missouri man robbed a Bank of America with a not-so-traditional demand note. Authorities say Michael C. Loyd entered the Springfield bank wearing a gray cut-off T-shirt, blue gym shorts and one orange shoe at about 11:30 a.m. local time Wednesday, July 20.

He went up to a teller with a piece of “printer-like paper” that said “Give Your Money Now. Don’t Say Anything. I Have A Partner Outside” in pink ink, according to the criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.

That demand was later determined to have been written on the back of Loyd’s birth certificate, officials say. The teller, feeling “scared and threatened,” gave Loyd the money before he left the bank in a black Dodge Ram pickup truck, according to court records.
