Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you’ve heard the news that Elon Musk has officially purchased Twitter.
Now comes the fun part.
Musk has already fired several Twitter executives, including Vijaya Gadde, the person responsible for banning President Donald Trump.
It’s now being reported by multiple sources that Musk is planning to do away with the lifetime bans of many users that Twitter had previously kicked off the platform for violating their various “hate speech” policies.
Musk hopes to ensure that Twitter become a ‘common digital town square,’ where both sides of the aisle can debate one another without fear of being banned:
“The reason I acquired Twitter is because it is important to the future of civilization to have a common digital town square, where a wide range of beliefs can be debated in a healthy manner, without resorting to violence.”
Could we see the return of President Donald Trump to Twitter?
Stay tuned!

National Review has the inside scoop:
Having successfully acquired Twitter after months of legal quagmires, Elon Musk now plans to reverse lifetime bans for Twitter users who were kicked off the platform for various speech infractions.
The tech titan doesn’t believe in barring an individual from the social-media site for life, a source told Bloomberg. Twitter has permanently removed a number of political personalities, many of whom are considered right-wing internet provocateurs or conspiracy theorists. They include Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, Project Veritas Founder James O’Keefe, Steve Bannon, Alex Jones, Milo Yiannopoulos, and most significantly, former president Trump.
The person with knowledge of Musk’s account reinstatement intentions said it’s unclear whether Trump will be allowed to return to Twitter.
As Musk said on Twitter Thursday, “the bird is freed.”

Here’s more on Musk’s intentions from the Post Millennial:
“The reason I acquired Twitter is because it is important to the future of civilization to have a common digital town square, where a wide range of beliefs can be debated in a healthy manner, without resorting to violence.
“There is currently great danger that social media will splinter into far right wing and far left wing echo chambers that generate more hate and divide our society.
“Twitter obviously cannot become a free-for-all hellscape, where anything can be said with no consequences.”

Unless they had threatened physical violence in writing here, which they should’ve been criminally charged for, @elonmusk should reverse all other lifetime bans and start from scratch. https://t.co/5BpbLXH2wi
