The jury has finally reached a verdict in the case of Nikolas Cruz, the Parkland school shooter…
Despite attempts by the prosecution to convince the jury to render a verdict of death for Cruz, the jury voted to give Cruz life in prison.
Cruz was previously found guilty of the murders of 17 victims at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
The perpetrator represents a disturbing trend of school shootings in America and an even more disturbing trend of ignoring the root causes…
The nation isn’t having larger conversations about psychological health, in-tact families, or anti-social behavior, instead, conversations often turn to issues of gun control.
Many decried the decision of the jury, asking questions such as “if Cruz is not fit for the death penalty, then who is?”
The verdict of the jury seemingly sparked outrage:
"The appropriate sentence for #NikolasCruz is the death penalty" – Very powerful closing from prosecutor Mike Satz. He ends by naming each of the 17 victims, by memory.

It’s rare to get a death penalty verdict in South Florida. I respect the jury’s decision in the Nikolas Cruz case, but if the death penalty doesn’t apply to the slaughter of 17 innocents — nearly all children — then when?

CNN confirmed:
Nikolas Cruz will be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the February 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, where 17 people were killed, including 14 students and three school staff members.
11 of 17 counts have been read – all LIFE IN PRISON for #NikolasCruz .

Its actually un-fucking-believable that the jury is recommending life sentences for #NikolasCruz . If there is anyone in this world that deserves to be sent early to hell, its that monster. I’m sickened and heartbroken for the Parkland families right here in my community 💔

According to Conservative Brief, Cruz’s defense attorney told the jury:
“What Nikolas Cruz did should make you angry and sad. There is nothing wrong with feeling those feelings,” she told the jurors.
“By showing you pictures and videos again, the state of Florida wants to put you in a place of hate, anger, and vengeance,” she added.
“Giving mercy to Nikolas Cruz will say more about who you are, than it says about him.”
