Big Tech Targets Kanye West Following Explosive Interview

Kanye West is facing the big tech backlash today after his explosive interview with Tucker Carlson on Fox News.

Twitter and Instagram have officially suspended his accounts following this ‘anti-semitic’ post:

Kanye West is known for saying bombastic and wild things on social media, but does this make him an anti-semite? What did he mean by going ‘Defcon 3’ on Jewish people?

Was it a call to violence as many liberals are claiming?

It seems to me that he was going to call some people out, perhaps he was going to call out Western support for Israel, perhaps he was going to call out the overrepresentation of Jews in the media and Hollywood—industries he is intimately familiar with.

I see that he also mentioned that black people are Jewish, so I can already almost guess where this conversation was heading—esotericism and highly subjective interpretations of history.

Violence though? Anti-Semitism? I am doubtful that West was heading in this direction. It also has to be said: levying criticism where criticism is due doesn’t make one racist or anti-anything.

One can criticize Israel, or point out Jewish overrepresentation in media, without being an anti-Semite—much in the same way I can be critical of the Catholic Church, for a variety of reasons, without hating Christians or Catholics.

People in this country say far worse things about Christians every single day and they are applauded for it. Christians are actually violently targeted in this country, yet there is no word for anti-Christian rhetoric.

Why are some groups protected yet others have no protection? If people truly want to discourage discrimination and offensive speech, why is it only ever toward certain groups? Shouldn’t it be for all people?

Regardless of religion, race, creed, sexual orientation, gender, nationality, political affiliation, etc?

Either we voice criticism towards everyone when it is due, or we don’t voice it at all, but this garbage where you can slight certain groups, yet others are untouchable is disgusting—it must end.

Liberals took the chance to attack West on Twitter, but I have to wonder, are they attacking him for his specific post, or using the post as a pretense to attack him for his latest interview via Fox News:

The Associated Press reports:

The comment drew a sharp rebuke from the Anti-Defamation League, which called the tweet “deeply troubling, dangerous, and antisemitic, period.”

“There is no excuse for his propagating of white supremacist slogans and classic antisemitism about Jewish power, especially with the platform he has,” a statement said.

Others were not so convinced that his suspension was due to his recent comments and had much more to do with his political leanings and recent interview:

Mediaite writes:

The blatantly anti-Semitic post was deleted by Twitter, which appended a note stating it violated its policies.

In another tweet, ostensibly on the same theme, West wrote: “Who you think created cancel culture?”
