HUGE Win for Matt Walsh in His Fight Against Vanderbilt Hospital Gender Transition Surgeries on Minors

“The Vanderbilt Pediatric Gender Clinic has agreed to pause all gender transition surgeries on minors, according to a letter from the clinic to a Tennessee lawmaker,” The Daily Wire reports.

Matt Walsh tweeted a copy of the letter Vanderbilt sent to state legislators.

“HUGE NEWS: following our report, Vanderbilt has agreed to pause all gender transition surgeries on minors. The fight is far from over but this will save children from mutilation and abuse. An incredibly important victory. Praise God,” Walsh tweeted.

“UPDATE: here is the letter Vanderbilt sent to state legislators. Notice the wording at the end. They promise to comply with whatever regulations are imposed. They’ve already conceded the legislative fight. This win is even bigger than we thought.”

“Vanderbilt also told the lawmakers that it would protect conscientious objectors who work at the facility and don’t want to take part in the controversial treatments,” The Daily Wire noted.

Walsh also published this video in response to his critics:

A conservative student group at the University of Illinois invited Matt Walsh on Thursday night to screen his recently released film “What is a Woman?”.

“Walsh drew crowds of supporters and protesters to the film screening and a Question and Answer session,” WAND News reported.

LGBTQ+ advocates began chanting outside the lecture hall as Walsh appeared on stage.

WAND News spoke with the organizers for the Walsh event who explained why they invited the controversial figure to campus.

“The first day of classes I saw a sign on the bathroom door that said ‘any sex can enter any restroom’ and I was not ok with that. So we brought him here just to present a different set of ideas on campus. Usually our ideas are flushed out by other students on our campus. So very important just to show that the conservative community is standing firm here at the University of Illinois,” Bailey Parks-Moore, Chairwoman of the Young Americans for Freedom University of Illinois Chapter, told WAND News.

More from The Daily Wire:

“We are pausing gender affirmation surgeries on patients under 18 while we complete this review, which may take several months,” the letter says. The clinic says they have done about five such “gender-affirming surgical procedures per year” since clinic opened in 2018.

The letter, addressed to Republican State Rep. Jason Zachary, was written by C. Wright Pinson, the deputy CEO and chief health system officer at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Pinson said that parental consent had been given in each case for the surgery and that no “genital procedures” had been done.

The executive noted that the clinic had relied on “leading medical specialty societies” such as the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH) and the Endocrine Society.

Pinson also said that the clinic complied with existing Tennessee law and would comply with any potential legislation that the legislature may pass.

“In addition, we understand this issue is likely to be taken up by the General Assembly in its next legislative session. As alwayswe will assure that VUMC‘s programs comply with any new requirements which may be established as a part of Tennessee law,” he wrote.

The news was celebrated by Tennessee Republicans, who probed the clinic after Daily Wire host Matt Walsh drew attention to the clinic performing double mastectomies on minors.
