Special Master APPOINTED—The Art Of War In Practice?

It is often said that President Trump works in mysterious ways…

We have pointed out his 4D-chess tactics numerous times and despite unrelenting attacks on him over the past 6 years, he’s still here. The man’s got rubber soul—nothing sticks and his tactics are clearly working.

Still, I have been wondering about his pick for a special master to oversee the handling of the Mar-A-Lago documents…

Trump personally picked Raymond Dearie—a Reagan appointee to fill the role.

My problem with Dearie is the fact that he signed off on the FISA warrant for Carter Page. This seems to be a massive red flag, but again, President Trump hand-picked this guy.

Doesn’t make very much sense, does it?

On the surface, it seems like a poor choice, but I have a theory: maybe President Trump picked Dearie precisely because he knew the DOJ would approve his request.

Perhaps Dearie is the only person he knew they would approve, so it was either a choice between a potentially compromised judge and leaving the entire ordeal in the hands of the DOJ.

After all, better that it be a 78-year-old Reagan appointee than anyone inside of Biden’s DOJ…

A 78-year-old Reagan appointee who may have made mistakes in the past, but no doubt sees what is happening to this country—particularly what has happened over the last 2 years.

The establishment probably believes that they have this guy on lock, but I have this sneaking suspicion that Raymond Dearie may just come through and play a critical role in dismantling this latest witch hunt.

Here’s what we currently know:

The Federalist explains the victory:

Judge Cannon denied the government’s request for a stay late Thursday.

In a ten-page order, she explained her reasoning, noting first that in seeking a stay related to the documents marked classified, the DOJ effectively asks the court to accept at face value the government’s representations that “all of the approximately 100 documents isolated by the Government (and ‘papers physically attached to them’) are classified government records.”

The court was unwilling to accept the government’s representation “without further review by a neutral third party in an expedited and orderly fashion.”

Business Insider had more on Dearie:

Dearie, 78, was nominated by Ronald Reagan and served in the US District court from 1986 to 2011.

In 2012, he was appointed by Supreme Court Justice John Roberts to a 7-year term on the United States Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, where he oversaw requests by federal investigators for surveillance warrants against suspected foreign intelligence agents inside the United States.
