Florida Teacher at Private School Arrested for Having Sex With Male Student

The school system has failed this country for many years.

The depths of those failures have reached a level of utter depravity that even private schools aren’t immune to.

A 42-year-old English teacher at a Florida private school was arrested on Sunday for sexual battery.

Jamie Melton allegedly had “sexual relations” with the underage student this month.

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister had this to say of the incident in a statement:

“This woman was a trusted member of this community who was responsible for the education and well-being of students. Instead she violated that trust.”

So far it is believed that this was an isolated event, but police are investigating whether or not this could have been a pattern that involved other students.

A 42-year-old female teacher at a renowned Florida private school has been arrested for having sex with a student, according to police and administrators.

Jamie Melton, a high school English instructor at the $25,000-a-year Carrollwood Day School in Tampa, is facing criminal charges after allegedly having “sexual relations” with the student this month.

She was arrested Sunday for sexual battery a day after local authorities issued a warrant for her arrest.

She’s a language and literature teacher at Carrollwood Day School in Tampa, a $25,000-a-year school serving second through 12th grade in Tampa Bay.

Melton was charged with having ‘sexual relations’ with a student over the age of 12 but under the age of 18, according to Carroll Principal Sara Rubenstein.

In a statement, Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said: ‘This woman was a trusted member of this community who was responsible for the education and well-being of students. Instead she violated that trust.’
