A 21-year-old woman visiting New York City from St. Louis, Missouri was raped on a subway platform, police said on Thursday.

The attacker reportedly approached the female tourist at a bus terminal on 42nd street in Midtown on September 1st at 3 a.m. and offered to help her navigate the subway station.

“From there, the man led her to multiple other subway stations, officials said. In one of those stations, he led her to the end of a platform towards the tunnel, then raped her, authorities said. It was not immediately clear in what station the attack ultimately took place,” Pix 11 reported.

Police are asking the public for help finding the assailant.
