Somber Donald Trump Pays Final Respects To Ex-Wife Ivana

Donald Trump bid his first wife a final farewell on Wednesday as his family gathered with other mourners during a funeral service for Ivana Trump.

The couple married in 1977 to 1992 and Ivana Trump died earlier this month at the age of 73.

Her funeral was held at St. Vincent Ferrer Church in New York City.

According to the New York Post:

Donald Trump, wife Melania and their son Barron sat solemnly in the first row at the private service to honor the famous, Czech-born New Yorker. Don. Jr. was also in attendance, and his teenage daughter Kai Trump gave a speech remembering her beloved grandmother.

Eric’s wife, Lara Trump, addressed the mourners as well, as did Ivanka Trump, who attended alongside husband Jared Kushner. Tiffany Trump was spotted inside the church, too.

In an emotional speech, Ivanka Trump described her mom as a tough-as-nails trailblazer in the business world.

“Growing up, my mother didn’t tell me a woman could do anything she wanted to — she showed me,” she said, holding back tears.“She was a trail blazer by men and women alike.”

“My mother once told me there was nothing she couldn’t do in heels,” she said. “She taught us how to spear fish and then cook what we caught.”

She added, “My mom expanded our minds.”

Her death also sparked a number of touching memorials from friends, family members, and fans on social media.

Ivana Trump was a successful businesswoman, a remarkable athlete, & most notably, a devoted & loving mother to @DonaldJTrumpJr, @IvankaTrump, & @EricTrump.

She was the embodiment of the American Dream. It was an honor to know her & to love her.

As CNN reported, Ivana Trump’s death was ruled an accident:

Ivana Trump, an ex-wife of former President Donald Trump, died of “blunt impact injuries” to the torso, New York City’s medical examiner said Friday.

Trump, a longtime businessperson, died in her home in New York City on Thursday at age 73. She was the mother of Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric Trump.

The New York Police Department had said Thursday there did not “appear to be any criminality” related to her death. According to a statement, police received a 911 call about an “aided individual” at about 12:40 p.m. ET and found a “73 year-old female unconscious and unresponsive.”

The Fire Department of New York said it responded to a report of an individual suffering cardiac arrest at the residence, with the time and place of that response matching the location the NYPD associated with Trump. The fire department said the victim was dead on arrival.
