Want to stop paying Federal IRS taxes in the United States?
For a moment, the dream was becoming real as PayUSATax.com went down this week, apparently due to targeted hacking.
Let me back up for a minute and explain…
Yesterday, reports began to surface that the PayUSATax.com website was down.
And not just for a little bit….
Down as in crippled.
This was one of the first reports:
BREAKING: Reports beginning to circulate that A Russian DDOS attack via Hacker Group KillNet has taken out the US Federal Tax Payment System (Developing)
— HeadlineHunter!🚨U.S. (@HHunter_US) July 1, 2022
Some claimed the attack was from Russian hackers:

Now I’m as pro-American as the next guy, but pro-Amerca does NOT mean pro-IRS.
If a Russian hacker wants to step in and disable the IRS, all I’m going to say is I don’t think I’ll be shedding a tear, thank you very much!
Here’s what it looked like when trying to access the website:

KillNet is laying into PayUSATax (@payUSAtax), one of the IRS approved vendors for paying your tax payments with a credit card, for their latest #DDoS attack. The site is currently offline. pic.twitter.com/x66L4itnv8

According to their website (after it was eventually restored — for now), PayUSATax is an Authorized IRS Payment Provider, and the IRS Logo appears prominently on the website.
