Last week a viral video appeared to show Rep. Nancy Pelosi shoving newly elected Republican Rep. Mayra Flores’ daughter.
Well, now a week later Pelosi’s campaign office is finally responding to the incident.
According to a representative of Pelosi(Pelosi didn’t even address the claims herself), the 82-year-old lawmaker was just simply trying to move the girl to get in the picture that was being taken.
Spokesman Drew Hammill would go on to say: “it’s sad to see ‘news outlets’ that know better misrepresent the Speaker’s effort to ensure Rep. Flores’ daughters wouldn’t be hidden behind her in all of the photos of such an important moment for their family”.
The video however speaks louder than Pelosi’s explanation, take a look:

Resist the Mainstream had more on the story:
The office of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., responded after claims that she pushed the young daughter of a newly elected Republican representative.
Representative Mayra Flores, R-Texas, was recently elected to Congress in a special election and claimed that in a photoshoot with Pelosi in her new office in Washington
A representative for Pelosi has contested the claims and in several posts on Twitter claimed instead that Pelosi was simply trying to move the girl so she would be in camera.
“It’s sad to see ‘news outlets’ that know better misrepresent the Speaker’s effort to ensure Rep. Flores’ daughters wouldn’t be hidden behind her in all of the photos of such an important moment for their family,” spokesman Drew Hammill wrote in reference to an article written by Fox News.
Hammill proceeded to post further footage showing Pelosi talking to Flores’ children about the room. “And here’s more footage of the Speaker graciously greeting Rep. Flores’ children and telling them about the room they are in.” He said in a follow-up post.

Indy 100 covered Pelosi’s excuse too:
Nancy Pelosi’s spokesperson has criticised the media for misrepresenting a clip of the House Speaker “pushing” a Republican congresswoman’s child and was actually ensuring the little girl “wouldn’t be hidden” in the photos.
In a video posted to Twitter, Pelosi appears to nudge the young daughter of Texas Representative Mayra Flores further away from her as the Democrat signals for other people to join the photo of Flores and her family.
Taking to Twitter to respond to the accusation made by Flores and other conservatives, Pelosi’s Deputy Chief of Staff Drew Hammill defended the 82-year-old Democrat.
