Remember Andrew Gillum?

He was the guy who lost a narrow race to current Florida governor Ron DeSantis in 2018.

Then in March of 2020, he was found passed out with a dead man who OD’d on crystal meth in a Miami Beach hotel room.

Well, he’s back in the news again for all the wrong reasons.

Gillum has just been charged by a federal court with 21 felonies stemming from his failed 2018 Florida gubernatorial campaign.

This includes 19 counts of wire fraud and making false statements.

Daily Wire has this breaking news:

Democrat Andrew Gillum was charged in federal court on Wednesday with 21 felonies related to his failed 2018 Florida gubernatorial campaign, which he lost to Republican Ron DeSantis.

“A federal grand jury has returned a twenty-one count indictment against Andrew Demetric Gillum, 42, and Sharon Janet Lettman-Hicks, 53, both of Tallahassee, Florida,” United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida said in a statement.

Our friends at Newsmax shared more details of the charges against Gillum:

Gillum, 42, and Sharon Janet Lettman-Hicks, 53, were accused of unlawfully soliciting and obtaining funds from various entities and individuals between 2016-19 through false and fraudulent promises and representations indicating the funds would be used for a legitimate purpose, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Florida Jason R. Coody announced.

The 21-count indictment also alleges that the defendants used third parties to divert a portion of those funds to a company owned by Lettman-Hicks, who then fraudulently provided the funds, disguised as payroll payments, to Gillum for his personal use.

Both defendants were charged with 19 counts of wire fraud. Gillum also was charged with making false statements to the FBI.
