‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ Actor and Emmy Nominee Tyler Sanders, 18, Dies Unexpectedly at His Los Angeles Home

Emmy-nominated actor Tyler Sanders, 18, passed away unexpectedly Thursday at his home in Los Angeles, California.

Sanders is best known for his starring role on “Just Add Magic: Mystery City” and guest appearances on “9-1-1: Lone Star” and “Fear the Walking Dead.”

Sanders’ agent, Pedro Tapia, confirmed the actor’s death in a statement Friday.

“Tyler was a talented actor with a bright future. He comes from a wonderful family and we ask that you respect their privacy at this time,” the statement said.

Sanders’ cause of death us unknown and currently being investigated.

The New York Post noted:

Sanders entered show business at the age of 10. In addition to his role on “9-1-1: Lone Star” opposite Rob Lowe, he starred in projects such as “The Rookie,” “Fear the Walking Dead” and the Amazon Prime series “Just Add Magic: Mystery City.”

The young performer, who also studied improv and stand-up comedy, received a 2021 Daytime Emmy nomination for his role as Leo in the “Just Add Magic” spin-off, and has a pair of independent films currently in postproduction, according to his IMDb.com profile.

Sanders was active on his social media pages, including his Instagram with more than 12,000 followers, on which he frequently shared photos of himself with his co-stars, friends and other nature-filled adventures.

According to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner-Coroner’s website, Tyler’s cause of death is listed as “deferred,” meaning the autopsy has been completed but a cause of death has not been determined.

The medical examiner is “requesting more investigation into the death, including additional studies.”

TMZ reported:

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they got a call for a male not breathing Thursday. When they responded, they found Tyler alone in the home and pronounced him deceased. At this time, there are no immediate signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances.
