WATCH Rand Paul Busts Fauci: “27,000 Royalty Payments Given To N.I.H. Employees”

How on earth is this legal?

According to reports, between 2010-2020, a whopping $193 million-$350 million in royalties from vaccine companies were paid out to 1,800 N.I.H. employees…

The conflict of interest is apparent, but that didn’t stop Fauci from dancing around the questions posed by Senator Rand Paul like the D.C. ballerina he is.

Fauci downplayed the seriousness of the allegations by claiming that at least some of the royalty payments were incredibly small, these are, of course, the ones we know about—the clearly documented ones.

True to his usual demeanor, Rand Paul sparred with Fauci in a heated exchange:

Washington Examiner captured Paul’s central question to Fauci:

“Over the period of time from 2010 to 2016, 27,000 royalty payments were paid to 18,000 NIH employees.

We know that not because you told us but because we forced you to tell us through the Freedom of Information Act,” Paul said.

“Can you tell me that you have not received a royalty from any entity that you ever oversaw the distribution of money in research grants?”

Zero Hedge offered more revealing information:

The secret royalty payments, which were first reported by The Epoch Times, are among thousands estimated to total at least $350 million paid between 2010 and 2020.

Long-time NIH Director Francis Collins received 14 payments, Anthony Fauci, who heads NIH’s National Institute for Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), received 23, and Clifford Lane, Fauci’s chief deputy, got eight payments.
