In the wake of White House medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci’s positive COVID-19 test result, some in the media are wondering if Joe Biden might have been exposed.
When reporters had a chance to address the issue during a recent White House press briefing, however, the answers left something to be desired.
According to Fox News:
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre sparred with the press Thursday over questions about President Biden’s COVID testing schedule.
Following the recent news that Dr. Anthony Fauci and Health Secretary Xavier Becerra tested positive for the coronavirus, NBC’s Peter Alexander questioned if Jean-Pierre could update them on when Biden was last tested.
“It’s a regular cadence. That’s what we do. We will share, per CDC, when he was a close contact, and he has not been a close contact. If he was a close contact, we will let you know,” Jean-Pierre answered.
When Alexander pressed further about an exact date as per usual, she declined to answer, instead repeating that Biden gets tested weekly.
“So as soon as you go back there and find out the date, you’ll share it with us?” Alexander asked.
“I’m not saying that,” she responded.
Despite calling for mass vaccinations and widespread face mask use, Fauci announced this week that he was experiencing a symptomatic COVID-19 infection.
Some of his critics online pointed out the perceived irony.

Dr. Fauci told us in May of last year, “When people are vaccinated they can feel safe that they are not going to get infected.” A year later, after four covid shots, Fauci got covid. Whoops! pic.twitter.com/SOn6nsG1kv

The National Institutes of Health released a statement confirming the diagnosis, as reported by the Associated Press.
Fauci has not recently been in close contact with President Joe Biden or other senior government officials. He tested positive on a rapid antigen test. He is following public health guidelines and his doctor’s advice, and will return to work at the NIH when he tests negative, according to the statement.
Here’s a clip of Fox News Channel’s Jesse Watters reacting to the news of Fauci’s positive test result.
