Is This President Trump’s New VP Pick?

One of the biggest questions that Conservatives have is “who will be Trump’s running mate?”

Trump has already made it clear he will not choose Mike Pence as his running mate.

So, who could it be?

Well, multiple reports that stem from advisers within Maara-Lago are suggesting that the Republican representative of New York Elise Stefanik is set to be Trump’s running mate in 2024.

Many voices within Trump’s circle believe Trump would benefit from having a woman as Vice President.

Rep. Stefanik has been seen as a loyal Trump supporter who has been an unwavering voice for the America First movement.

Other names that are being tossed around as Trump’s VP pick are Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina and Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennesse.

Donald Trump hasn’t said if he will run for president again, but that doesn’t seem to be stopping him from privately musing about his potential running mate if he does. The latest person to catch his eye: Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York, the moderate-turned-MAGA star who has developed a strong relationship with the former President, according to multiple GOP sources with direct knowledge of the matter.

While talk about a 2024 vice presidential pick is of course premature, conversations about adding Stefanik to a future Trump ticket have gained steam in recent weeks at Mar-a-Lago and in other Republican circles, sources said.

Current and former advisers and others in Trump’s orbit have privately argued that the New York Republican, who replaced Rep. Liz Cheney as the no. 3 House Republican last year, is a fierce and loyal attack dog, and Trump would benefit from tapping a woman for vice president should he run again.

Two people familiar with the matter said Trump has been surveying close friends and allies on what they think of Stefanik, one of several Republican women he is possibly eyeing for the potential VP slot, though he has not ruled out a few male contenders, too.

One of these people said the former President believes Stefanik has undergone a genuine transformation — leaving the moderate wing of the party to join its increasingly powerful “America First” flank. “There is a part of Trump who thinks he needs a female VP. He definitely likes her, likely because of how effusive she is to him,” one Trump adviser said.

The Conservative Brief has a different angle of who Trump’s VP might be:

Donald Trump has not officially announced a 2024 presidential run, but it appears that he may be building a “campaign in waiting.”

According to Politico, Trump insiders have said he’s started the process of considering possible running mates.

“A lot of times, a presidential candidate will pick a running mate to balance out wings of the party. But with Trump, that’s not the issue. He is the party, basically. It’s so united behind him,” said John McLaughlin, one of Trump’s campaign pollsters. “So his choice, if he runs, will come down to what he wants. It would be a much more personal decision this time.”

“They’re all begging me. They all come here,” One adviser, who spoke anonymously with Politico, said Trump told them.

“Once you get past those two issues — loyalty and Trump going more with his gut — Trump has a lot of leeway in who he would pick,” said Tony Fabrizio, Trump’s lead pollster in 2016 and 2020.

“He’s not necessarily looking to balance the ticket geographically, but what he can do is pick to balance gender, race, ethnicity — a lot of different lanes there,” said Fabrizio, who is polling for a Trump-affiliated super PAC. “It could be everything from a Tim Scott in South Carolina to an Asian American in California, somebody Hispanic in Texas. There are so many choices and paths. And there’s lots of time to go.”

The report from Politico, which is based on information from Trump insiders, suggests a few names are high on the list:– Mike Pompeo, Tim Scott, Marsha Blackburn, Kim Reynolds, Kristi Noem and Mark Meadows.
