A stampede nearly broke out at the “March for Our Lives” gun control rally in Washington D.C.
There were fears that an active shooter had rushed onto the stage.
But this turned out to be completely false.
That didn’t stop people, though, from running away screaming.

It was a domino effect and mob mentality almost turned it into a full blown stampede.

Someone in the crowd randomly yelled “gun shot.”
That’s what set off the panic.
It’s a good thing the organizers were able to get the crowd under control.
Or it could have been a deadly situation.
According to Fox News:
Attendees at the Washington D.C. March for Our Lives rally were sent scrambling after someone at the rally reportedly yelled “gun shot.”
An individual at the rally for increased national gun control yelled “gun shot,” according to ABC7 News.
One reporter said that the incident caused momentary chaos.
“Once people started running, others started running, causing momentary chaos and fear,” ABC7’s Ashlie Rodriguez said.
According to the report, police handled the situation and said there was no threat.
The U.S. Park Police tweeted that the individual was detained by law enforcement, adding that no weapons were involved in the incident.
These rallies are happening all over the country to push gun control measures.
Democrats are increasingly falling behind in the midterms election polling.
Gun control, abortion, and January 6th are the issues they’ve chosen to make their primary platform.
Apparently it was an anti-protester who caused the scare:

The counter protester stormed the stage and yelled “I am the gun.”
That’s what set off the start of the stampede.
He did NOT have a weapon on him.
So obviously no shots were fired either.
The Daily Mail has more information:
A man stormed the stage during the ‘March for our Lives’ protest against gun violence, causing an stampede as thousands of attendees fled in terror when he reportedly threw an object at the audience.
More than 5,000 people attending the event at the National Mall in Washington, DC, cowered on the floor after the unidentified pro-gun protester came onstage during a moment of silence.
‘I am the gun I am using! I am not shooting a school,’ the man said as security personnel attempted to escort him off the stage, before seemingly throwing a can at rally attendees behind the barricades.
The disturbance only lasted a few moments and officials at the rally rushed to assure those present that the man was not armed, The Sun reported.
‘Do not run, I repeat, do not run! There is no issue here,’ a speaker on stage told the crowd immediately after the incident.
The man has since been arrested and US Park Police has opened an investigation.
Honestly, the counter protester made a great point.
What’s dangerous isn’t the gun itself.
What’s dangerous is the person who is holding the gun.
Saying guns kill people is like saying forks make you fat.
It’s all about personal responsibility, choice, and most importantly, the ability to protect yourself and your family.
