Whatever happens in darkness will eventually come to the light…

A former Disney Actor has just been sentenced to two years in prison for reportedly enticing a 13-year-old boy to have sex.

Former Disney actor Stoney Westmoreland was charged for “using interstate facilities to transmit information about a minor”.

Westmorland who had major roles in several children’s tv shows on Disney reportedly enticed the 13-year-old boy through the gay dating app Grindr.

The 13-year-old boy however was an undercover police officer.

During his trial, Westmorland claimed he was “role-playing” and that he believed that the undercover agent was just pretending to be a 13-year-old boy but ultimately the Judge and the jury didn’t buy it and Westmorland will now have to face time behind bars.

Complex had these details to share:

Ex-Disney actor Stoney Westmoreland has been sentenced to two years in prison for attempting to persuade a minor to have sex.

TMZ reports that the 52-year-old accepted a deal, pleading guilty to using interstate facilities to transmit information about a minor. He will have 10 years of supervised release following jail time and is required to comply with DNA collection and must register as a sex offender. Additionally, his computer devices will be randomly searched and he has to inform authorities of all of his electronic accounts, like email and social media. He is also not permitted to be in contact with people who are under 18 years old unless an adult is present.

Westmoreland’s lawyer, Wendy Lewis, told the outlet that the actor was initially hit with a charge of enticement of a minor over the internet, which could have had him locked up for up to 10 years.

Back in December 2018, the former Andi Mack star was arrested in Salt Lake City for allegedly plotting sex with a minor. According to authorities, Westmoreland used the dating app, Grindr, to meet with a 13-year-old, with whom he shared explicit photos. However, Westmoreland was actually speaking with an undercover officer who was pretending to be a minor.

The New York Daily News dropped these details:

“Andi Mack” alum Stoney Westmoreland, accused of trying to lure a minor into sex, has been sentenced to two years in prison after pleading down to a lesser charge.

Westmoreland, who played the grandfather on the Disney Channel sitcom, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of using interstate facilities to transmit information about a minor and was slapped with 24 months in prison and 10 years of supervised release, rather than the 10 years in prison he was initially facing, TMZ reported Sunday.

The actor was originally charged in 2018 after he allegedly booked a car to meet what he thought was a 13-year-old for sex while filming in Salt Lake City.

Prosecutors said Westmoreland was using Grindr, a gay dating app, and thought he was talking to a young boy with plans to bring him back to his hotel room. Instead, he had actually been communicating with an undercover police officer while he was sending and asking for pornographic photos, according to his arrest affidavit.
