Black DJ Falsely Accused of Being a White Man in Blackface by Two Arizona Diversity Activists

This story proves that social justice activists have gone way too far.

Two Arizona diversity activists are in hot water for accusing a school district of racism after they mistook a black man hired by the school as a DJ for a white man in blackface.

Seriously, this isn’t a joke…

Stuart Rhoden and Jill Lassen are activists who allegedly specialize in diversity, equity and inclusion.

The duo chastised the Hopi Elementary PTA in the Scottsdale Unified School District for hiring a local black DJ named Kim Koko Hunter for a charity event, whom they thought was a white man in blackface.

Hopi PTA president Megan Livengood responded to the accusations:

“The DJ that the Hopi PTA hire[d] was, in fact a Black man.”

She continued:

“It is insulting that you feel myself or PTA condone racist behavior or encourage it by posting on social media.”

The duo admitted to their mistake but later one of them claimed that the black DJ appeared to have darkened his face.

They apparently never heard the expression, “quit while you’re ahead.”

Who needs the Babylon Bee when the real news is already this funny:

The New York Post has this hilarious story:

Two local diversity advocates in Arizona are taking heat after calling a school district racist for hiring a DJ to perform in blackface — but it turns out the DJ was black.

Stuart Rhoden and Jill Lassen — who specialize in diversity, equity and inclusion — lambasted the Scottsdale Unified School District’s Hopi Elementary PTA for its decision to hire Kim Koko Hunter, 56, a local black DJ, at a charity event.

Both Rhoden and Lassen, who are involved in diversity work in the school district, slammed the school after seeing a picture of Hunter, only to later learn his race, according to the Arizona Daily Independent.

“The DJ that the Hopi PTA hire[d] was, in fact a Black man,” Hopi PTA president Megan Livengood wrote in response to Lassen in a message obtained by the outlet. “It is insulting that you feel myself or PTA condone racist behavior or encourage it by posting on social media.”

Daily Mail has more details on the two activists’ reaction to their mistake:

Jill Lassen and Stuart Rhoden, who advocate for diversity at the Scottsdale Unified School District in various capacities, wrote scathing letters of complaint after DJ Kim Koko Hunter appeared at a PTA event, and they mistook him for a white man.

Stuart and Rhoden have since apologized, with some noting the irony of ‘diversity and inclusion’ activists rushing to such false conclusions.

But Rhoden also sought to double down on his initial allegation, and speculated as to whether Hunter may have used cosmetic products to make his skin appear darker.

‘When you are so hell bent on pointing out everyone as a racist, only to uncover yourself as the racist,’ one person tweeted.

Hunter, the Scottsdale school district and the Hopi PTA did not immediately respond to requests for comment from DailyMail.com.

Rather than simply apologize and move on, they doubled down on their stupidity…
