FACT-CHECK: Was Ukraine The Largest Donor To The Clinton Foundation For 15 Years?

Time to do a “Fact Check” on the fact-checkers and do some actual investigative journalism.

You know, the type that the MSM seems to have completely forgotten how to do.

Reports have been circulating online that Ukraine has been the largest donor to the Clinton Foundation for the past 15 years.

Here are some of the reports which come directly from an investigation conducted by the Wall Street Journal:

So….now the big question: is it true?

Well, if you want to split hairs and try and claim a false distinction then you do what the USA Today did and you label it FALSE.

Why do they claim that?

Because they claim that it’s not true that “Ukraine the Government” was the largest donor.

Ok, fair enough.

But what is true?

It IS true that when you analyze individual donors when grouped by country of origin for donations of $50,000 a piece, the Ukraine tops the list at $10 million.

And that report was conducted by the Wall Street Journal and it’s authenticity and veracity is not in question.

So I guess it depends on how you phrase the question, but to simply rate this as FALSE seems to me to hide the ball.

Good thing you have WeLoveTrump!

And to make sure we are giving full context, here is a direct quote from the fact-check at USA Today, which you can read fully here:

The Wall Street Journal published a report in 2015 on individual donations over $50,000 made to the Clinton Foundation between 1999 and 2014. The article included a chart listing the top foreign donors.

Ukraine tops the list, but the graph doesn’t support the claim in the social media posts.

Then-Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, and her husband former President Bill Clinton, greet supporters after voting in Chappaqua, N.Y. on Nov. 8, 2016.

That’s because the graph doesn’t reflect donations from governments, as the posts assert. The Journal’s analysis looked at individual contributions and ranked them “by nationality of donor.”

Ukrainians contributed $10 million to the Clinton Foundation – more than any other nationality, according to the report. Most of that money came from Ukrainian businessman and philanthropist Victor Pinchuk.

Pinchuk’s foundation, based in Kyiv, donated $8.6 million to the foundation between 2009 and 2013, the Journal reported. He and his wife started contributing to Clinton charities in 2006.

The article notes that Pinchuk has close government ties, as he served as a member of the Ukrainian Parliament from 1998-2006 and is the son-in-law of former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma. Pinchuk’s contributions – both to the Clinton Foundation and the Trump Foundation – have come under scrutiny and faced criticism, but they didn’t stem from the Ukrainian government.

A 2015 analysis from The Washington Post found several donors had given more than $25 million to the Clinton Foundation since its creation. Among them: Canadian mining magnate Frank Giustra’s foundation, Democratic supporter Fred Eychaner and a major lottery based in the Netherlands.

Now, let’s dig a little deeper.

This is where critical thinking comes in.

They’ve all but tried to completely ban critical thinking in our public schools, but it’s a vital skill now more than ever before.

Now it’s time to ask yourself what are the chances that Mitt Romney, Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden all had sons who worked for energy companies in the Ukraine?

Seems odd, doesn’t it?

What are the chances that the phone call they tried to impeach Trump over just happened to be with Ukraine’s Zelensky?

And now add this one: what are the odds that the number one donor by country of origin to the Clinton Foundation happened to be Ukraine?

Either Ukraine is filthy rich — richer than the United States and just has money to burn — or, and I’m just throwing this out there as a hypothetical — or perhaps Ukraine is the global hub of money laundering?

Nah, that couldn’t be it.

How do you think all those rich people in the Ukraine came to donate the money in the first place?

I’ve seen a lot of pictures of Ukraine and it looks rather like a shithole to me.

Where are all these millions coming from to pay Hunter Biden and to donate to the Clinton Foundation?

It couldn’t be that corrupt people (Members of Congress, Presidents, diplomats) vote to send Ukraine millions and millions of “foreign aid” which gets paid to the Ukrainian government, which then gets doled out to the rich oligarchs, which then “kick back” a portion of that to places like the Clinton Foundation, could it?

That would just be crazy talk, right?

Clif High doesn’t think it’s crazy.

In fact, he lays out the whole plan right here, and as always, it always goes back to the Central Banks:
