It appears the Ukrainian secret service is now picking off their own.

Several reports coming from Eastern Europe are reporting that Denis Kireev who was a member of the negotiation team for Ukraine was killed by the Ukrainian secret service for alleged “treason”.

Kireev was a financial expert who helped spearhead the peace talks with Russia but has now been killed by his own government without even facing a trial.

Pictures of Kireev’s lifeless body have been making their way around the web and have many people thinking that Kireev held intel that needed to be taken to the grave.

The Daily Mail had more on the story:

A Ukrainian peace negotiator has been shot dead ahead of the latest round of talks to end the war amid claims he was a Russian spy.

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence said Denis Kireev, 45, was a spy and former banker who was killed during an operation to ‘defend the nation’.

After his death, the government hailed him as a ‘hero’ but MPs claimed he was shot and killed by Ukraine’s security service after resisting arrest on suspicion of ‘treason’.

Mr Kireev was pictured sat on the Ukrainian side of the negotiating table during last week’s peace talks with Russia on February 28, despite not being on the official delegation list, and his role at the summit is unclear.

Both Russia and Ukraine have made claims about his alleged spying activities, each blaming him of working for the other side.

The U.S. Sun broke the story too:

A MEMBER of Ukraine’s peace negotiations team has been shot dead amid claims he may have been spying for Russia.

Officials in Kyiv said Denis Kireev, 45, a spy and former banker, was killed during an operation “defending the nation”.

The government hailed him a hero hours after MPs had earlier claimed he had committed “treason” and was executed by the Ukrainian intelligence agency.

Both Russian and Ukrainian sources made claims about his alleged spying activities including that he may have been working for both sides.
