HUGE: Gov. DeSantis REJECTS Biden’s State of the Union Request

Joe Biden is preparing for his upcoming State of the Union address.

With his approval rating circling the drain and international turmoil making headlines everyday, it should be interesting to see what his handlers tell him to say.

Another noteworthy aspect of the speech deals with security — and it’s already causing controversy.

As Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis recently explained, the White House has asked states to send National Guard troops to D.C. ahead of the address.

For his part, the GOP governor responded to the request with a resounding no.

As WESH explained:

The reason for this rejection was not immediately clear, but Florida’s governor is not a fan of the Biden administration.

During his Conservative Political Action Conference address last week, the governor said President Joe Biden hates him and the state of Florida because they “stand up to him.”

DeSantis said the media puts out “a blizzard of lies” meant to relieve the blame on Biden, which he referred to as “the Brandon Administration.”

The Florida governor made his announcement in a tweet, and a number of other prominent Republicans soon voiced their support.

Of course, the presence of National Guard troops is not the only controversial aspect of Biden’s State of the Union address preparations.

Many critics are outraged that local authorities have decided to erect another perimeter fence ahead of the speech.

According to ABC News:

Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger announced the fence surrounding the Capitol was erected “out of an abundance of caution in light of the upcoming State of the Union Address, and the possibility of demonstrations in the next couple of weeks,” according to a statement released on Sunday.

The United States Capitol Police have also been working in tandem with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies including D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department, the United States Park Police, the United States Secret Service and the National Guard on a “security plan to prevent any disruption to the important work of Congress,” Manger said.

Considering Biden’s frequent inability to express a coherent thought, it seems likely that the speech itself will also result in some serious backlash.

The following compilation video offers just a small sample of his frequent gaffes.
