A 33-year-old teacher in Southern Italy set himself on fire Monday in the city of Rende, Cosenza province.

Due to new “Super Green Pass” requirements, the shocking incident allegedly occurred in protest of Italy’s COVID-19 jab mandate.

The COVID World explained:

In October 2021, a law was passed requiring all teachers and health workers in Italy to be either vaccinated or show a negative test before entering the workplace. However, new measures were put in place on January 10th which eliminated the option of showing a negative test to gain access to work and school.

ABC News elaborated on Italy’s “Super Green Pass” enacted earlier this month:

Italian teachers are required to be vaccinated and some 99% are, according to Education Minister Patrizio Bianchi.

Italy 24 News recounted the horrifying scene:

He picked up a can of gas and emptied it on himself, then took a lighter and set the fire. Moments dramatic this morning in the small town of Makes, in the province of Cosenza, where a 33-year-old man, FC, residing in Cosentino, he set himself on fire in front of the carabinieri barracks. The 118 rescuers immediately intervened on the spot together with the firefighters and the municipal police, all alerted by the military who, realizing what was happening, tried to intervene to extinguish the flames.

After firefighters extinguished the blaze, medical staff transported the teacher to Annunziata Civil Hospital in Cosenza.

He’s currently in the ICU and reportedly suffered burns on 70% of his body. Medical personnel will transport him to the large burn center in Naples when conditions allow it.

As speculation intensifies that the man committed the gesture due to the COVID-19 jab mandate, Italy 24 News stated the reason remains unknown.

Still little information leaked so far from the police but according to what we learn it seems that the man, 33, works as a teacher in Lombardy and had recently returned to Calabria. At 10.30 this morning he arrived aboard one six hundred yellow in front of the police station with a twenty-liter petrol can in hand and then set himself on fire. The first to intervene were the employees of a nearby workshop who used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames. The reasons for the gesture are currently unknown.

The COVID World noted responses from terrified witnesses:

A tire dealer and a passing worker who were first to intervene commented:

“We saw that he set himself on fire and we immediately took the fire extinguishers to put it out. If we had waited for 30 seconds longer, in my opinion there would have been nothing to save.

The two workers continued describing the intense and shocking moments:

“We were working and suddenly we saw a gentleman get out of a car with a petrol can, then when we realized that he had started to pour it on himself, taking out a lighter, by instinct we took the fire extinguishers and ran to help him. In this way we avoided the worst.”

If reports confirm the teacher’s actions were over mandates, it’s another heartbreaking example of the psychological torture civilians have endured from tyrannical governments.

Melbourne, Australia witnessed two prior incidents where someone set themselves on fire due to COVID-19 jab mandates (links HERE & HERE).
