Father of Three Removed From Heart Transplant List for Refusing COVID Vaccine

A Boston father of three is being denied a heart transplant due to the fact that he won’t take the COVID-19 vaccination.

31-year-old DJ Ferguson was removed from the top of the transplant list from a Boston hospital for refusing the experimental injection.

Ferguson has two young children, with a third on the way.

Ferguson’s father said that his son does not believe in the COVID injection, which has coincidentally been linked to heart problems.

Hospitals have been removing the unvaccinated from transplant lists since last year.

Ferguson is now left fighting for his life.

Here’s more on the heartbreaking story from the New York Post:

A 31-year-old father has been removed from the heart transplant list at a Boston hospital because he is refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine, his family said.

DJ Ferguson’s family say he was first on the list to receive the transplant at Brigham and Women’s Hospital — but he is no longer eligible because of his vaccination status, CBS Boston reported.

His father, David Ferguson, said his son — who is fighting for his life in the hospital and is in desperate need of the transplant — doesn’t believe in the COVID-19 vaccine.

“It’s kind of against his basic principles, he doesn’t believe in it. It’s a policy they are enforcing and so because he won’t get the shot, they took him off the list of a heart transplant,” David told the outlet.

“My son has gone to the edge of death to stick to his guns and he’s been pushed to the limit.”

Ferguson has two children and is expecting a third with his partner Heather, according to a GoFundMe page set up for him.

Fox News shared more details:

The parents of a 31-year-old in need of a heart transplant at Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital said their son has been removed from the transplant list because he has not been vaccinated for COVID-19, according to a report.

The hospital told CBS Boston that its policy is in line with other transplant programs in the U.S. that require the vaccine because it fits under the lifestyle behaviors of the candidates. The statement said it is the hospital’s goal to “create both the best chance for successful operation and also the patient’s survival after transplantation.”

David Ferguson, the father of the patient, DJ Ferguson, told the station that his son was at the front of the line to receive the organ, but was removed because he refuses to take the vaccine.

Democrats and advocates of the experimental COVID-19 vaccination have made it clear they think it’s totally fine for this man to be denied a heart because he won’t get the injection:

It’s unfortunate that we’ve come to expect nothing less from  them…
