Mother Accused of Putting 13-Year Old Son in Car Trunk to Avoid COVID Exposure

We have covered plenty of crazy stories involving people panicking over COVID-19 over the last two years.

None that I’ve covered quite compare to this one though.

A Texas mother is facing charges after she allegedly put her 13-year old son in the trunk of her car while driving to a nearby COVID-19 testing site

The suspect, Sarah Beam, put the child in the car trunk because she was afraid of being exposed to the virus.

The district director of health services, Bevin Gordon, was the one who discovered the child was in the trunk while gathering information from the vehicles in the drive-thru testing site.

Gordon immediately alerted authorities.

Beam now has a warrant out for her arrest.

As disturbing as it is that a mother would do this to her own child, Beam was also a teacher for the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District.

Here’s more on this absolutely disturbing story from ABC 13:

A Cy-Fair ISD teacher is accused of locking her 13-year-old son in the trunk of her moving vehicle this week at a COVID-19 drive-thru testing site because she didn’t want to be expose to him, charging documents state.

The school district confirmed Friday that the teacher, 41-year-old Sarah Beam, had a warrant issued for her arrest. She has been an employee with Cy-Fair ISD since 2011, most recently teaching at Cypress Falls High School.

Fox News provided more details:

The Jan. 3 incident occurred at a testing site at Pridgeon Stadium in northwest Harris County. Bevin Gordon, the district director of health services, told a Cy-Fair police officer she was gathering information from vehicles in line for COVID testing when she confirmed with Beam that a child was in the trunk of her car.

Beam allegedly told Gordon the child had previously tested positive for COVID and said she put her inside the trunk to prevent her from getting exposed again while driving to the stadium for additional testing, the complaint said.

When Beam unlocked the trunk, Gordon saw the teen lying down, the documents said. Beam was informed the test would only be administered when the child moved to the back seat of the vehicle. Investigators reviewed surveillance cameras that show the child moving from the trunk to the back seat, prosecutors said.

The Cult of COVID-19 has gone too far…
