While the NIH Director has not officially said he would be making any career shifts to music, he is due to step down 12/19/2021.
(1/3): Pleased to announce that my longtime #NIH colleague & friend Dr. Larry Tabak will become Acting NIH Director beginning 12/20/21 after I step down on 12/19/21. I'm absolutely confident the agency will be in good hands during this time of transition. https://t.co/Tp8BvT0DHU pic.twitter.com/D0h9LrNYwU

Who knows? Music may be in his near future.
Real Clear Politics reports, he calls himself “an amateur musician”

Some reactions to the county music star in the making:

If you send this back in time to someone from 50 years ago, they would have thought the Soviets won the cold war.

Well, at least the director got in his last “hoorah” in a pitiful attempt to spread propaganda and got in a potential jumpstart to an even more pitiful music career in the process, we’ll be keeping our eyes out for it.
