DERSHOWITZ: Kyle Rittenhouse Should Be Acquitted; Needs To Sue Media For Their ‘Deliberate And Willful’ Lies

As the Kyle Rittenhouse trial reaches a precipice during closing arguments, many across the country are beginning to see how preposterous the charges really are.

Much of that could be due in fact to a hostile media taking every chance they can to smear Rittenhouse and paint him as some type of right-wing, racist vigilante, who set out that night to murder “peaceful protestors” in cold blood.

Distinguished Harvard Law professor emeritus, Alan Dershowitz, appeared on Newsmax over the weekend to provide his analysis.

From the Newsmax follow up article:

Kyle Rittenhouse “should be acquitted” of killing two men and wounding a third during last year’s Black Lives Matter protests in Kenosha, Wisc., and then he should hold liberal news outlets accountable for insisting he’s guilty of murder and committed vigilante justice, Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz insisted on Newsmax Saturday.

“If I were a juror, I would vote that there was reasonable doubt [and] that he did act in self-defense,” Dershowitz told Newsmax’s “Saturday Report.”

“Then he’ll bring lawsuits, and that’s the way to answer… vigilante justice is what CNN is doing, not what a 17-year-old kid under pressure may have done right or wrong. It’s CNN who is involved in vigilante justice. It’s The New Yorker that’s guilty of vigilante justice.”

Dershowitz pointed to the lawsuits filed by Kentucky high school student Nicholas Sandmann, who sued CNN and other outlets over accusations of racism made against him following an encounter with a Native American activist in Washington, D.C.

Sandmann ended up settling his case against CNN.

“The idea is to make the media accountable for deliberate and willful lies,” said Dershowitz.

Meanwhile, with Rittenhouse, Dershowitz said trial Judge Bruce Schroeder is being attacked unfairly by the liberal media for making rulings that are legal because the outlets have already decided that Rittenhouse is guilty.

Schroeder came down hard on the case prosecutor this week for asking Rittenhouse questions about his decision to remain silent while being questioned about the case. Dershowitz said it’s a “big deal” that the prosecution tried to use Rittenhouse’s silence against him.

“The bigger deal is that all the civil libertarians, all the liberals, all the ACLU types, The New Yorker and The New York Times, they all attack the judge for simply applying the Constitution,” said Dershowitz.

“These phony civil libertarians couldn’t care less about due process or about free speech. All they want is due process for me, but not for thee. They’re taking sides.”

Dershowitz mentions the case of Nick Sandmann, who sued the pants off the Fake News for their portrayal of him.

Sandmann was drug through the mud during the fallout of a famous video showed him with a Native American provocateur during a class trip to Washington, DC.

Sandmann settled with several media outlets, including CNN and the Washington Post, and is now a very (deservedly) rich man.

Per the NY Post covering the story at the time:

The Washington Post on Friday agreed to settle a monster $250 million lawsuit filed by Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann over its botched coverage of his 2019 encounter with a Native American elder.

Sandmann declared the victory in a tweet on his 18th birthday. It’s unclear how much the newspaper settled for.

“On 2/19/19, I filed $250M defamation lawsuit against Washington Post. Today, I turned 18 & WaPo settled my lawsuit,” he wrote.

“Thanks to @ToddMcMurtry & @LLinWood for their advocacy. Thanks to my family & millions of you who have stood your ground by supporting me. I still have more to do,” he continued.

It’s the teen’s second win in a whopping $800 million defamation battle against a number of news outlets including the Washington Post, CNN, ABC, CBS, The Guardian, The Hill and NBC.

CNN agreed to settle with Sandmann in January this year as part of a separate $275 million claim.

Sandmann and a group of his Covington classmates were vilified on social media after they were filmed wearing “Make America Great Again” hats after an anti-abortion rally while being yelled at by demonstrators.

Those scum bag media outlets deserved to pay every single penny to Nick Sandmann.

If any of them had a shred of self-respect, they would never show their faces in public ever again.

They knew exactly what they were doing and who they were doing it to; an innocent teenager.

In the case of Rittenhouse, there is much more at stake.

Rittenhouse could be convicted of murder. That’s pretty serious.

Maybe Kyle Rittenhouse was a little naïve that night, thrusting himself into the middle of a violent riot. Perhaps going into Kenosha with a gun was a little bold.

But there is one fact that remains…

AT LEAST HE WENT THERE TO HELP AND NOT TO RIOT, LOOT, AND BURN!

Did Huber or Rosenbaum go there to help?

No. They went there to act like scum bags.

Watch Tucker here. This is OVER THE TARGET.

The only miscreants roaming the streets of Kenosha that night were the ones setting dumpsters and businesses on fire. But that doesn’t matter to CNN or Washington Post.

They have a narrative to feed to the herd of sheep.

This time, they are going after a young man who went through a series of extremely traumatic events.

A young man who was chased through the streets by criminals and a child rapist trying to take his weapon and beat him senseless with a skateboard.

As we sit here this evening, the prosecution and defense are presenting their closing arguments.

Hopefully our legal system will prevail..

Through his testimony and his actions, he has demonstrated that he is a young man with a lot of character. He did not have to get up on the stand and testify but he did anyways.

I’m not a lawyer but I have a feeling many would not recommend their client do that.

He has already gone through a massive amount of trauma and has a lot of healing to do.

The media continues to exacerbate that trauma.

I hope Kyle is free soon so that he can put them in their place.
