Rachel Levine who is openly transgender was sworn in as a four star admiral for the United States Department of Health and Human Services on Tuesday.

The United States Department of Health and Human Services is one of the eight uniform services of the United States and is lead by the U.S Surgeon General.

Levine who was appointed by Biden to be the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Assistant Secretary was born as a biological male but now identifies as a female.
