This is completely sickening, the assistant to the U.S. House of Representatives sergeant at arms was arrested earlier this week on child pornography charges.

Stefan Bieret was charged with 10 felony counts of  possessing child pornography after police obtained a search warrant for his home in Virginia.

Police received a tip from the National Center for Missing Children after a pornographic image of a child was uploaded to a Dropbox account located in Fairfax, Virginia which was allegedly was belonged by Bieret.

The current sergeant at arms William J. Walker who was nominated by Nancy Pelosi, has not released any comments on his assistant being charged with pornography charges.

The New York Post had more on the story:

An assistant to the House of Representatives’ Sergeant at Arms was arrested Wednesday on child pornography charges, police said.

Stefan Bieret, 41, was charged with 10 felony counts of possession of child pornography after cops executed a search warrant at his home in Burke, Virginia, Fairfax County cops said Thursday.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children had earlier received a tip of an illicit image being uploaded to a Dropbox account, whose owner lived in Fairfax County, police said.

Detectives there launched an investigation in August and executed a search warrant on the Dropbox, which had contained images of child sex abuse, police said.

Bieret was ultimately identified as the account owner and “multiple” electronic devices were recovered from his home. He was ordered held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, cops in Virginia said.

NBC got the scoop too:

An assistant House of Representatives Sergeant at Arms was arrested and charged in a child pornography case, police in Fairfax County, Virginia, said.

Stefan Bieret, 41, of Burke, was taken into custody on Wednesday after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) contacted authorities about a “potentially illicit image being uploaded to a Dropbox account,” according to a police press release.

Detectives executed a search warrant on the Dropbox account and determined that it belonged to a Fairfax County resident. Additional images containing child sexual abuse material were also found on the account, the Fairfax County Police Department said.

“Subsequent search warrants led detectives to the identity of the owner of the Dropbox account,” the press release stated. “Yesterday, detectives executed a search warrant on his home and recovered multiple electronics.”

Bieret was charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography. He was taken to the county adult detention center and held without bond, police said.

It was also reported that Bieret was a fixture in Congress and was well known to most lawmakers, which leaves many people to believe that more arrest could be coming soon.
