Florida has remained a safe haven for freedom during the Pandemic thanks to Governor Ron DeSantis.
First, DeSantis banned school mask mandates.
He even made sure Florida withheld money from schools over defying his mask mandate ban!
In March, DeSantis promised to take action against vaccine passport mandates in his state.
Then in May, DeSantis made sure Floridians kept their medical freedom by signing Senate Bill 2006 banning vaccine passports.

DeSantis also signed Senate Bill 2006 into law, which would ban vaccination passports, and give the governor power to override local orders during health crises and directing state agencies to plan for future pandemics. https://t.co/2ruYZkccdE

Many wondered what type of executive action DeSantis would take against those who defied the vaccine passport ban.
After sending out a tweet yesterday that “No one should lose their job because of COVID shots,” He mentioned a fine Leon County received for violating Florida law.
Florida law states that any entity asking for proof of COVID-19 vaccination can be fined $5,000 per violation.
Leon County defied the law and imposed a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for all 714 county employees.
Once the County enforced its vaccine mandate deadline on Oct. 1, 14 employees were fired for non-compliance.
Shortly after, Leon County received a letter from the Florida Department of Health for violating the law.
Now, Leon County must pay $3.57 million to the state of Florida.
No one should lose their job because of COVID shots.@HealthyFla fined Leon County more than $3.5 million for violating Florida law after the county fired 14 employees for not complying with the county’s forced vaccination policy.

DeSantis is taking a stand for us all by putting his promises of medical freedom into action.
No one should be forced to put something into their body.
We should also be able to retain privacy for personal medical issues.
Why aren’t more of our Governors fighting for these basic rights?
DeSantis said that Leon County’s vaccine policy breaches medical privacy and is “unacceptable.”
WTXL has more on DeSantis’ statement regarding Leon County’s fine:
“We are going to protect Florida jobs. We are not going to let people be fired because of a vaccine mandate… And so you don’t just cast aside people who’ve been serving faithfully over this issue over, what’s basically a personal choice on their individual health. We cannot let these folks be cast aside. We cannot allow their jobs to be destroyed and their families and livelihoods, potentially, to be destroyed as well. And we’ve seen places like city of Gainesville, some other places around the state that have basically said, we are going to fire you unless you take a vaccine. Fortunately the state of Florida passed a law, this most recent legislative session, SB 2006, that did a lot of different things. It prevented private businesses from requiring proof of vaccination to just do normal things like go to a movie or go to a restaurant, but that also applied to government agencies. And so if a government agency in the state of Florida forces a vaccine as a condition to employment, that violates Florida law and you will face a $5,000 fine for every single violation. You look at places here in Alachua County, like the city of Gainesville, I mean, that’s millions and millions of dollars, and potentially in fines, Orange County, many more than that. … We’d make [vaccines] available for all, but mandatory for none. And that’s been the policy that we’ve had from the beginning.”
Many took to Twitter to celebrate DeSantis’ move.

The Left, however, fears that DeSantis is committing “murder.”

It is ironic how the Left accuses DeSantis of “murder” when they are the party who condones the murder of the unborn.
Where is the outrage on the Left about my body my choice?
Governor DeSantis made a bold move to protect everyone’s choice for what they put in or on their body.
Liberals should praise DeSantis instead of vilifying him!
Clinging to their tyrannical orders, the Left must know deep down that mandates do NOT work.
Will this move from DeSantis pave the way for more fines?
Forbes is reporting to watch for additional punishments in Florida:
Leon County’s punishment could be the first of many, as the Florida Department of Health released a list Monday of more than 100 entities that are “under review” for potentially violating the state’s vaccine passport ban. The list—which includes everyone that’s been named in a complaint, including places that might not actually be violating the policy—includes major companies like Starbucks and AT&T; concerts in Florida by Harry Styles and Maroon 5; and “DoD employees,” suggesting the state could potentially take action against the federal government’s vaccine mandate for the U.S. military. In addition to Leon County, Orange County has also been warned it may face fines because of its vaccine mandate, though unvaccinated employees who violate that policy are only subject to a written reprimand and not termination. While the city of Gainesville was also initially on the list of entities under review, the health department noted Tuesday it is now complying with the state policy and will not be punished.
Do you think we will see more fines from DeSantis soon?
