Kamala Harris Calls for Investigation Into Biden Admin Handling of Illegal Migrants

Yes folks, you read that headline right.

Kamala Harris, the alleged Vice President of the “Biden Regime” (I don’t call it an Administration) is now calling for an investigation into….the Biden Administration!

[insert loud cackling laugh here]

Hey, no one ever accused these people of being very bright.

But it’s real, watch right here if you can tolerate the cackling:

From The Hill:

Vice President Harris on Tuesday condemned the treatment of Haitian migrants at the southern border after images circulated appearing to show Border Patrol agents on horseback grabbing individuals seeking to enter the U.S.

“What I saw depicted, those individuals on horseback treating human beings the way they were was horrible,” Harris told reporters after an event to promote the White House’s economic agenda.

“I fully support what is happening right now, which is a thorough investigation into what is going on there. But human beings should never be treated that way, and I’m deeply troubled about it,” she said.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) earlier Tuesday announced it is investigating the treatment of Haitian migrants by Customs and Border Protection agents after video and images surfaced of the agents on horseback chasing down migrants at the southern border.

“DHS does not tolerate the abuse of migrants in our custody and we take these allegations very seriously,” the department said in a statement on Twitter. “We are committed to processing migrants in a safe, orderly, and humane way. We can and must do this in a way that ensures the safety and dignity of migrants.”

Harris was tasked by President Biden earlier this year with overseeing efforts to address root causes of migration from Central America. Asked if her responsibilities will extend to Haiti, Harris expressed sympathy for the plight of Haitians in the wake of multiple natural disasters and the assassination of their president.

“I mean, talk about a country that has just experienced so much tragedy,” Harris said. “And we really have to do a lot more to recognize that, as a member of the Western Hemisphere, we’ve got to support some very basic needs that the people of Haiti have to get back up and to do what folks naturally want to do, be them from Haiti or in the countries in Central America. People want to stay home. They don’t want to leave home. But they leave when they cannot satisfy their basic needs.”

My favorite comment?

This one:

Bingo!

But hey, hard to fault her for not knowing what was going on down there when she never bothered to visit!

I also loved this one from Dinesh:

And from the NY Daily News:

Vice President Kamala Harris Tuesday said she was “deeply troubled” by images of Border Patrol officers attacking desperate Haitian migrants at the southern border — and called for an investigation.
The first Black vice president said she wants to know why officers on horseback used ropes or whips to intimidate frightened Haitian men, women, and children near the border town of Del Rio, Texas.

“What I saw depicted … is horrible,” Harris said. “Human beings should never be treated that way.”

Harris said she planned to discuss the issue later Tuesday with Department of Homeland Security Secretary Antonio Mayorkas.

The veep, who was speaking after an event promoting President Biden’s economic agenda, spoke as the serious situation along the southern border continued to deteriorate. Thousands of migrants are gathered on the U.S. side of the border and more are just across the Rio Grande in Mexico hoping to follow.

And from The Guardian:

Kamala Harris and Chuck Schumer have added their voices to criticism of the treatment of Haitian migrants at the US-Mexico border who were corralled by US border patrol agents riding horses and allegedly wielding reins like whips.

NATIONAL POLL: Do You Still Have Trump's Back 100%?

Asked on Tuesday about footage of the incident, the vice-president said: “What I saw depicted, those individuals on horseback treating human beings the way they were, was horrible.”

Harris said she supported investigations of the matter and intended to speak to the homeland security secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas.

“Human beings should never be treated that way,” she said. “And I’m deeply troubled about it.”

Thousands of Haitians encamped under and near a bridge in the town of Del Rio faced a ramped-up US exclusion effort on Tuesday, with six flights to their homeland. More than 6,000 migrants had been removed by Monday, officials said. On the other side of the border, Mexico had begun flights of its own.

Asked what the US should do about the migrants, Harris said: “Talk about a country that has just experienced so much tragedy, that it’s been about natural disasters, the head of state assassinated, and we really have to do a lot to recognize that as a member of the western hemisphere we’ve got to support some very basic needs that the people of Haiti have.”

In an interview on Tuesday with CNN Mayorkas said he too was “horrified” by the images. Some of the mounted agents used their horses to forcibly move and block the migrants, seeming to herd them like animals, and taunt them in at least one instance. “Any mistreatment or abuse of a migrant is unacceptable,” Mayorkas said. “The pictures that I’ve observed troubled me profoundly.”
