It’s hard to quantify the level of obsurdity that emerges from the Federal government these days.
With no look of irony on her face, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky just recycled the same excuse used in 2020 to justify the nationwide shut downs that crippled the entire American economy 500 days ago.
News outlet, Oregon Live gives us the play by play.
A renewed vaccine push mixed with masking could flatten America’s recent spike in coronavirus cases within two weeks, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Wednesday morning.
“We can halt the chain of transmission,” Walensky told “CBS This Morning” on Wednesday. “We can do something if we unify together, if we get people vaccinated who are not yet vaccinated, if we mask in the interim, we can halt this in just a matter of a couple of weeks.”
If you are experiencing a mental groundhog day in readng that. You aren’t alone. Most Americans should have gone into instant convulsions when hearing this announcement.
CDC is saying we can end the Delta Variant in just two weeks. The last time someone told me this, America shut down for 500 days.

A favorite tactic of the Left and the elites is to give you horrible news and then try and make things sound better by offering even worse news as a consolation. They think they are helping.
Rochelle Walensky is trying to back track statements she made just two weeks ago, recomending reduced mask-wearing and a host of other recuced precautions. Based on the data, she was lifting restrictions accordingly.
Adding to the confusion is that the CDC initially announced the new guidance Tuesday without publishing the underlying data used to make the decision. The Washington Post then reported on leaked slides from the CDC on Thursday night with more information, before the agency officially published data Friday.
The Hill featured a statement from the American Medical Association backing up the CDC.
“With cases of COVID-19 continuing to increase in the United States and a significant number of people who remain unvaccinated, the CDC’s updated mask guidance is needed to help curb the spread of COVID-19 — particularly the Delta variant, which we know is much more contagious,” said Gerald Harmon, president of the American Medical Association.
Things were going fine until the Left needed more firepower to back up their unsubstantiated claims that infections were up because of people refusing the vaccine. Then miraculously, out of thin air, the CDC changed their tune to match the Biden Aministration’s.
Though the country has faced a steep rise in cases this month — a trend that frustrated federal officials blame on vaccine hesitancy — Walensky suggested that jabs and masks can quickly bat back the delta variant wreaking havoc across the U.S.
We all know the issue has very little to do with vaccine hesitency. Nations with a near completely vaccinated population are reporting similar spikes.

Iceland, one of the nations that the Left has praised for their handling of virus laxed their guidelines after over 90% of their population had been vaccinated. In spite of that, the numbers rose.
Iceland’s spike is coming from Vaccinated citizens at the same if not higher rate than the Un-vaccinated. Logical people would look at that rise and conclude vaccination numbers are not the main player here.
That’s didn’t stop our current man in the White House, Joe Biden to take any opportunity to question the intellegent of vaccine skeptics. Take Tuesday for example.
“If you’re not vaccinated, you’re not nearly as smart as I thought you were,” Biden said Tuesday. “We have a pandemic because of the unvaccinated.”
Talk about an inspirational leader.
The response to the increased CDC guidelines and backtracking has been less than positive.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, oh HELL NO!

People are not taking this depressing news well. Including many Republican lawmakers.
But a range of Republican lawmakers outright blasted the change, saying the CDC was flip-flopping and unnecessarily intruding in the lives of people who had already gotten the vaccine.
“President Biden’s CDC can’t make up its mind,” tweeted House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (Calif.). “One mask. Two masks. No masks. Back to one mask.”
Rep.Chris Stewart (R-Utah) wrote that the “CDC is putting Washington back into the middle of your lives.”
I don’t know about you, but now might be a good time to make a move down to Florida while there’s still real estate left. Desantis seems to be doing a fine job keeping Florida out of the crazineness of Washington hysteria.
Check out this clip of Desantis giving the power of choice back to his citizens.
Forcing kids to wear masks is bad policy. Parents are best equipped to decide whether they want their kids to wear a mask in school. Neither bureaucrats in Washington nor local authorities should be able to override the decision of the parents. pic.twitter.com/1TyFByAaWf
