Around 1 am the president of Haiti Jovenel Moise was assassinated in his home.
According to the interim prime minister Joseph Claude he was killed in a barbaric manner by a group of men who were speaking in Spanish and English.
The detail of the suspects speaking in Spanish and English is head scratching due to the fact most of Haiti speaks Creole.
The First Lady was also shot but she’s currently in the hospital expected to make a full recovery.

Could Jovenel’s death be an extra body added to the Clinton’s body count?
or
Did his political opposition take him out instead?
Details are still coming out about his death so it’s too early to tell.

Reuters had more on the story:
Haitian President Jovenel Moise was shot dead by unidentified attackers in his private residence overnight in an “inhuman and barbaric act” and his wife was injured, Interim Prime Minister Claude Joseph said on Wednesday.
He said the police and army had the security situation under control but gunshots could be heard throughout the capital after the attack, which occurred amid a rising wave of politically linked violence in the impoverished Caribbean nation.
With Haiti politically divided, and facing a growing humanitarian crisis and shortages of food, there are fears of widespread disorder. The Dominican Republic said it was closing the border it shares with Haiti on the island of Hispaniola.
“The President was injured and succumbed to those injuries,” Joseph said in an interview with Radio Caraibes.

The Daily Mail got the scoop too:
The President of Haiti Jovenel Moise has been assassinated in a nighttime raid on his private residence in the hills above Port-au-Prince, according to the prime minister.
A group of ‘foreigners’, some of whom spoke English and Spanish, broke into Mr Moise’s home at around 1am on Wednesday, PM Claude Joseph said in a statement.
The 53-year-old was shot dead and the First Lady Martine, 47, was also injured in the attack, Mr Joseph wrote as he condemned the ‘hateful, inhumane and barbaric act.’
Mr Joseph said he had taken charge of the country and the police and armed forces were taking ‘all measures to guarantee the continuity of the State and protect the Nation.’
It comes after Mr Moise claimed police had foiled an assassination plot in February amid massive protests in the country over claims the president was acting like a dictator and refusing to hold elections.
