AOC Receives Backlash For Blaming Trump For Her Grandmother’s Housing Condition

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s hypocrisy continues…

In her latest tweet AOC posted photos of her grandmother’s  home that was damaged when Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico in 2017.

In the caption of the pictures she blamed President Trump for the condition of her grandmother’s house by claiming he blocked relief funds to Puerto Rico.

Users on Twitter blasted AOC for the tweet and pointed out that instead of buying a Tesla and two apartments maybe she should’ve used her 170,000 Congress salary on helping out her grandmother instead of relying on President Trump to do it.

One user was even quoted saying “AOC is willing to redistribute everyone’s money but her own”.

The Daly Mail didn’t stay behind and had these details to report:

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was slammed on Twitter Wednesday for not helping her grandmother and instead posting images of her dilapidated home in Puerto Rico and blaming Trump for not sending aid after Hurricane Maria.

Critics were quick to jump on the post questioning why the progressive congresswoman, who makes $174,000 and drives a Tesla, isn’t sending money to help her grandmother.

‘Just over a week ago, my abuela fell ill. I went to Puerto Rico to see her- my 1st time in a year+ bc of COVID,’ Ocasio-Cortez wrote on Twitter.

‘This is her home,’ she continued, posting two pictures of mostly-empty rooms where the ceiling is falling in and plastic buckets on the ground are collecting water. Also in the images are one chair, one dresser and a tarp on the ground.

‘Hurricane María relief hasn’t arrived. Trump blocked relief $ for PR. People are being forced to flee ancestral homes, & developers are taking them,’ the New York congresswoman wrote.

Conservative columnist Matt Walsh jumped on the post: ‘AOC went and bought herself a Tesla while her grandmother lives in a shack with a collapsing ceiling.’

‘It never fails with these champagne socialists,’ he continued. ‘They expect everyone else to make sacrifices while making none themselves.’

The New York Post got the scoop too:

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was hammered on Twitter Wednesday after she posted a lengthy thread highlighting the plight of her grandmother in storm-ravaged Puerto Rico.

“Just over a week ago, my abuela fell ill,” Ocasio-Cortez began. “I went to Puerto Rico to see her- my 1st time in a year+ bc of COVID.

“This is her home,” the congresswoman added, posting a picture of a dwelling with a damaged roof, little dresser, and no bedding. “Hurricane María relief hasn’t arrived. Trump blocked relief $ for PR. People are being forced to flee ancestral homes, & developers are taking them.”

Over the next few tweets, the self-described democratic socialist took aim at the former president and local politicians over the distribution of aid following the devastating impact of Hurricane Maria in 2017.

“Shameful that you live in luxury while allowing your own grandmother to suffer in these squalid conditions,” tweeted Daily Wire host Matt Walsh.

“Honey, you drive a Tesla and have two apartments,” Florida GOP congressional candidate Lavern Spicer chimed in. “If your grandmother is living poor that’s because you don’t help her out. I’m surprised that a socialist wouldn’t redistribute that.

Hurricane Maria occurred over 4 years ago, if AOC really cared about her grandmother she would have gotten her house taken care of then.
