Bishops Have the Guts to Call Out Pelosi & Her Support for the Killing of the Unborn

One simply cannot be a democrat or a liberal without also being a hypocrite. That is an indisputable fact!

On one hand, you have nearly every leftist individual crying out “if we could just save one life” when it comes to banning guns. While those same leftists take no issue with the murdering of millions of unborn babies.

Finally, it appears that some within the Catholic church are waking up to the reality that those who facilitate this genocide shouldn’t be accepted in the Church.

As U.S. Catholic bishops consider forbidding actively pro-abortion politicians from receiving Communion, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has spoken out saying that she can “use [her] own judgment” when determining whether or not she should participate in Communion. But the bishops are firing back.

“I think I can use my own judgment on that,” Pelosi told a reporter earlier this month regarding bishops calling for pro-abortion politicians to reconsider their abortion stance or stop receiving the Eucharist. According to Catholic Vote, she also said she was “pleased” by a statement from the Vatican that seemed to side with her, when in actuality, it did not.

Bishop Donald Hying of the Diocese of Madison, Wisconsin, tweeted in response, “So, in other words, Nancy, we bishops should just be quiet about your radical pro abortion stance, as you facilitate the continuation of the murder of millions of unborn lives.”

Archbishop Samuel Aquila of Denver responded to Hying’s tweet with “Amen! We will never stop defending human life in our faithfulness to the Gospel!”

But it was the Archbishop of Pelosi’s own diocese in San Francisco that had the most words of wisdom to share with her. In a statement published on Monday, Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone wrote:

We must never lose sight of this fact: in the last 50 years, in the United States alone, 66,000,000 babies have been murdered in their mothers’ wombs. This is not a matter about which one can use judgment. It is a fact. 66,000,000 babies murdered in their mothers’ wombs.  

If we look around us and see what is happening in our society today, we will see that this fact once again demonstrates that violence begets violence. 66,000,000 babies murdered in their mothers’ wombs. The response to a woman in a crisis pregnancy is not violence, but love.  

He added, “It is for this reason that I’m happy to know that Speaker Pelosi said she is pleased with the letter of Cardinal Ladaria, Prefect of the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith, to Archbishop Gómez, President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, regarding the issue of Catholics prominent in public life who advocate for practices that are gravely evil. In that letter, Cardinal Ladaria advises the U.S. bishops to use as a guide in discerning how to address this situation the principles laid out in a private letter in 2004 from the then-Cardinal Ratzinger, Prefect of the CDF at the time, to the bishops of the United States.”

It is long overdue that we the people stand up for the unborn babies who are murdered on a daily basis throughout this country and around the world. The left claims to stand up for the rights of all people. Do unborn babies not also have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?

Groups like planned parenthood masquerade as “family planning” organizations. When in reality that couldn’t be further from the truth as the overwhelming majority of women who seek family planning assistance end up killing their unborn child.

Furthermore, it is the democrats who are funding this organization funneling millions and millions of taxpayer dollars into this baby-killing operation.

Since Planned Parenthood makes a huge chunk of its income from surgical and medical abortions, it has been working hard to increase its share of the US abortion market. In 1980, PP only performed 5% of the nation’s abortions. By 1995, its share of abortions had doubled to 10%; by 2003, it has doubled again to 20%. Currently, it has leveled out at 40% of all the abortions in the United States. According to Planned Parenthood’s 2019 Annual Report, it committed 345,672 abortions that year. But it also distributed 593,586 “emergency contraception” kits that year, and there is no way to tell how many early preborn lives were ended in this manner.

According to its own 2019 Annual Report, 96.1% of pregnant women seeking help from Planned Parenthood get an abortion; only 1.2% get adoption referrals and 2.7% get prenatal care of any kind.² And yet while it essentially only offers one choice, Planned Parenthood advertises itself as “pro-choice” while attacking crisis pregnancy centers, which provide real help to women, both those who are pregnant and those who have already had their babies.

And to facilitate these murders democrats ensure that Planned Parenthood is funded largely by the American taxpayers.

Planned Parenthood’s most recent annual report shows it received over $500 million from the Medicaid program through reimbursements. The group’s combined Medicaid reimbursements and family planning grants amounted to $563.8 million in year 2017-2018 – $20 million more than the $543.7 million it took in from taxpayers in 2016-2017.

In year 2017-208, Planned Parenthood performed 11,373 more abortions than in the previous year, and collected $1.67 billion in revenue, including $630.8 million from “private contributions and bequests,” a figure that is $98 million more than the $532.7 million it received from private sources in the previous year.

With all its revenue, Planned Parenthood reported it made nearly $250 million in profits, or, what it refers to as “excess revenue.”

In 2015, after the Center for Medical Progress began to expose Planned Parenthood’s alleged fetal tissue trafficking operations, Yuval Levin of the American Enterprise Institute wrote at National Review that, with both Medicaid and Title X, “federal dollars are being spent in ways that contravene the intent and spirit of the legal prohibitions on federal funding of abortion provision, and the biggest beneficiary by far is Planned Parenthood.”
