Fox 5 News covered the story and released these details:
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office says the “animal” who tried to snatch a girl at her bus stop in West Pensacola Tuesday morning has been captured.
Surveillance video shows the 11-year-old’s brave escape from the man, who may have been watching the girl for two weeks.
It happened around 7 Tuesday morning at Old Corry Field Road and Perdido Street.
The video shows a white Dodge Journey pull onto the street next to the girl. About 90 seconds later, the vehicle comes back down the street and stops. A man jumps out and grabs the girl as her bag is thrown several feet away.
As the man tries to drag the girl back to his vehicle, she can be seen struggling as he stumbles and they both fall. The man gets up and runs back to his vehicle as the girl runs in the opposite direction.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said the man was Hispanic, possibly in his 30s or 40s, and was armed with a knife.
Late Tuesday night, the sheriff identified the suspect as 30-year-old Jared Paul Stanga, saying he has a lengthy history that includes the abuse of a child.

ABC News got the scoop too:
Officers have arrested a suspect in connection to an alleged attempted kidnapping that was captured in a “chilling” video, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 7 a.m. Tuesday in Pensacola, Florida. According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, which released the video, an 11-year-old girl was waiting at a bus stop when a man armed with a knife exited a white Dodge Journey and allegedly tried to kidnap her.
The video shows a man running toward a girl sitting on a patch of grass by a backpack. The girl attempts to run away before he grabs her. As he pulls her back toward the car, they both fall to the ground, at which point the girl breaks free, grabs her backpack and runs away. The man gets back in the car and drives off.
Deputies arrested Jared Paul Stanga, 30, and have charged him with attempted kidnapping of a child under 13, aggravated assault and battery.
“We have caught the animal,” Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons told reporters.
Thank God that that little girl was kept safe, but unfortunately there are a lot of predators out there lurking for our children so my friends be very vigilant.
