8 Fully Vaccinated Yankee Members Tested Positive For Covid-19

I thought the vaccine was the cure to all of our problems?

Apparently not!

Eight members of the New York Yankees baseball team have tested positive for COVID-19 after they were fully vaccinated.

Pitching coach Matt Blake, first base coach Reggie Willits, third base coach Phil Nevin. shortstop Gleyber Torres, and four travel members have all tested positive for Covid-19

The fully vaccinated Yankee members tested positive for COVID  the same day Biden sent out a tweet saying “the rule is now simple: get vaccinated or wear a mask until you do”.

It looks like his new rule already doesn’t work!

Newsweek covered the story, check out what they had to say:

The New York Yankees have eight personnel within its organization who have tested positive for COVID-19 after taking the Johnson & Johnson vaccination for the coronavirus. Team manager Aaron Boone said Thursday that shortstop Gleyber Torres tested positive for the second time in a year.

“Certainly unexpected,” Boone said of Torres on Thursday. “Obviously everyone, Major League Baseball, that’s in charge of testing is looking into that. The variants that could be out there if that is the case.”

The Yankees said the team is undergoing additional testing and contact tracing, with the assistance of the baseball commissioner’s office and its medical experts. The New York State Department of Health is advising the team.

Torres played in Tuesday night’s game at Tampa Bay and then was out of the lineup Wednesday night.

Also testing positive were pitching coach Matt Blake, third base coach Phil Nevin, first base coach Reggie Willits and four traveling staff.

The Hill got the scoop too:

At least five coaches for the New York Yankees have tested positive for COVID-19, sources familiar with the situation told ESPN on Tuesday.

According to the outlet, the team has confirmed that third-base coach Phil Nevin tested positive for the virus. Manager Aaron Boone said that other coaches have not yet been confirmed.

Nevin, who has been fully-vaccinated against the coronavirus, is reportedly following Major League Baseball’s quarantine protocol in Tampa, Fla. The Yankees are set to play the Rays in Tampa on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Boone told ESPN that the game is still scheduled to go on.

Major League Baseball rolled back its coronavirus restrictions for vaccinated players and staff in March, lifting mandates for masks to be worn in dugouts, bullpens, or weight rooms. It also began allowing vaccinated players to go without masks when they are around with other fully vaccinated individuals in hotel rooms.

I wonder what the “trust the science” people have to say now?
