Ted Cruz Dines With President Trump At Mar-a-Lago

It’s very clear who the leader of the Republican party is…

Ever since President Trump moved to Mar-a-Lago Republican Senators and Representatives have been flocking to Florida to meet up with President Trump and this week was no different.

Senator Ted Cruz recently tweeted a picture of him and President Trump dining together at Mar-a-Lago.

Cruz went on to tweet that Trump is in “good spirits” and said the two talked about the retaking back the House and Senate in 2022.

The Hill didn’t stay silent see what they had to say:

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) had dinner with former President Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort on Tuesday night and had what the senator said was a productive discussion about how Republicans can regain control of Congress.

“Had a great dinner tonight with President Trump at Mar-a-Lago,” Cruz tweeted along with a photo of himself and Trump. “He’s in great spirits! We spent the evening talking about working together to re-take the House & Senate in 2022.”

Trump, who polling shows has the backing of a solid majority of the GOP base, said last month Republicans running for elected office during the 2022 midterm and 2024 general elections will need to embrace his “Make America Great Again” policy objectives if they want to succeed.

“We’ve expanded the Republican Party,” Trump said during a prime-time appearance on Fox News. “If you want to win and win big, you have to do that.

The Daily Caller covered the story too:

Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz dined with former President Donald Trump on Tuesday at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida, Cruz announced Tuesday evening.

Cruz was among the first Republican senators to meet with Trump since leaving office. Trump has gone to great lengths to maintain and even strengthen his grip on the GOP now that he has lost the White House.

The GOP is in the midst of a struggle over whether Trump will define the party moving into the future as he has been a vocal critic of moderate Republicans including Maine Sen. Susan Collins, Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, and Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski.

Some media figures have argued that the booing of Romney and the continued attacks against Republican Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney are evidence that Trump’s grip on the GOP is only growing stronger since leaving office.

Did you notice no candidates are posting pictures of them having dinner with Senator Mitch McConnell?

That’s because a visit with McConnell would bring their poll numbers down while meeting with Trump would give them a boost.
