Democrats call Conservatives racist constantly but when one of their own gets caught being racist their silent.

The head of the Democratic Party in one Texas County has resigned after calling Senator Tim Scott an Oreo.

The former Lamar County Democratic Party chairman Gary O’Connor has since apologized for using the racist term.

O’Connor’s full quote was “I had hoped that Scott might show some common sense, but it seems clear he was little more than an oreo with no real principles”.

The New York Post covered the story, check out what they had to share:

The head of the Democratic Party in a Texas county resigned Tuesday, days after he described Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) as an “oreo,” leading to an outcry among Republicans.

Now-former Lamar County Democratic Party chairman Gary O’Connor, who is white, told the Washington Examiner in a statement that he was “deeply and sincerely sorry” for using the “racist term” against Scott, one of three black senators and the only black Republican.

“It was insensitive and I have embarrassed myself and my party by its use,” O’Connor’s statement read.

O’Connor used the slur, commonly used to describe a black person perceived to be acting like a typical white person, on his personal Facebook page after Scott delivered the formal Republican response to President Joe Biden’s address to a joint session of Congress last week.

Forbes didn’t stay quiet either and got the scoop too:

A Texas Democratic county leader who called Sen. Scott (R-S.C.) an “oreo” after his rebuttal to President Biden’s joint address to Congress last week resigned from his position on Tuesday amid widespread backlash.

Gary O’Connor, the chair of the Lamar County Democratic Party, announced his resignation in a Tuesday statement apologizing for the racial slur written in a since-deleted Facebook post criticizing Scott’s response to Biden.

The Democratic leader said he was deeply sorry for his “inappropriate and hurtful use of a racist term,” which refers to a Black person who is perceived as acting white.

O’Connor faced mounting calls for his resignation over the post, including from U.S. Rep. Pat Fallon (R-Texas), who labeled the comment “abhorrent, insulting and unforgivable.”

“I had hoped Scott might show some common sense, but it seems clear that he is little more than oreo with no real principles,” O’Connor wrote in the controversial Facebook post.

Imagine if a Republican said that every top Democrat in office would be outraged but since it’s one of their own being caught racist we are hearing nothing but crickets…
