DC Men (And Women) Can’t Dance: New COVID Wedding Restrictions Have Couples Fuming

How do the Dems do it?

Every time you think there’s no more joy left for them to suck out of life, they manage to find a new way.

This time they’re going after dancing.

Yup. Dancing spreads the China virus.

Or so says the mayor of DC.

Fox News reports:

Seemingly ripped straight from the plot of “Footloose,” Washington, D.C.’s, new social distancing rules ban standing and dancing at weddings. The sudden announcement, made just as wedding season kicks off, has blindsided couples getting ready to tie the knot.

“It’s insane, it’s been an absolute roller coaster,” says Stephanie Sadowski, a D.C. wedding planner and owner of SRS Events.

Sadowski says couples are being forced to move their weddings outside of the nation’s capital with just one or two week’s notice.

“They want to have a party. Planning their wedding, they’ve made concessions along the way, they’ve reduced, reduced and reduced their guest count in Washington, D.C,” she says.

According to the latest D.C. order, indoor and outdoor weddings are capped at 25% capacity. A waiver is required for more than 250 people.

In a statement to local affiliate Fox 5 DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser’s office said it has the dancing ban in place as an extra layer of safety to reduce the spread of COVID-19 because when people stand and dance their behavior changes. For example, people are more likely to get close and touch each other.

Gasp! People may actually touch at a wedding!!

Why not just have segregated weddings?

Men on one side, women on the other …

This is just so sad for couples who have been waiting over a year for restrictions to be reduced to have their wedding.

The Blaze had this to say:

In a statement to WTTG, Bowser’s office said that the ban has been put in place to reduce COVID-19 transmission.

The outlet reported:

A spokeswoman said they have it in place as an extra layer of safety to reduce the spread of COVID-19 because when people stand and dance their behavior changes. For example, people are more likely to get close and touch each other. They did not respond to our request for an interview or further information about why the District feels the need to have that in place when neighboring states do not.

The station reported that one D.C. bride who is due to marry in June has said there has to be a “better solution.”

The bride, Jillian Harig, said, “We’re used to wearing masks at this point, we’ve been doing this since March. Why not allow dancing but make masks a requirement or even requiring a negative COVID test for wedding guests or provide your vaccination card.”

A lot of the country is reopening at this point so to me no dancing or standing at a reception seems like it’s a little bit more of stepping backwards instead of moving forward to more of that normalcy that we’re all looking forward to,” Harig added. “I think the light is at the end of the tunnel. I am disappointed and shocked about this.”

So where have we seen a dancing ban before?

I wonder what punishment the DC mayor will think of if some people can’t keep their feet from moving at their wedding?

Everyone knows this has nothing to do with COVID.

It’s just a power play; a method of control.

Until, one by one, every common freedom is stripped away.

Because the only dance the mayor seems to want her people to do, is this one:
