Well in President Trump’s own words “the whole thing was ridiculous”.
President Trump recently did a phone interview with Fox News and gave his opinion on Biden’s disastrous press conference.
In the interview, Trump called out Biden for only answering “softball” questions and was quoted saying “Nobody’s seen anything like it. It’s very sad to watch actually, they’re feeding him questions”.

The New York Post covered Trump’s interview and shared these details:
President Donald Trump on Thursday night blasted what he called “softball” questions asked by reporters during President Joe Biden’s first press conference earlier in the day.
Speaking to Fox News host Laura Ingraham, Trump said Biden’s presser was like a “different world” compared to when he faced questions from the Washington press corp.
“It was like softballs, like you’re throwing softballs — and it’s just a different world,” the former president said.
“Nobody’s seen anything like it. It’s very sad to watch actually, they’re feeding him questions, they’re easy questions,” Trump said.
The press pool at Thursday’s briefing was limited to 25 reporters and Biden only took questions from a list of journalists whose names and outlets he read from a cue card.

Fox News covered Trump’s comments on Biden’s press conference too:
Trump remarked that his successor received “strange questions” from the reporters he called on.
“[The questions] were asked in a very interesting way. It was like softballs; like you are throwing softballs up, and it is just a different world,” he remarked.
Trump said he did not see a “Jim Acosta”-type reporter questioning Biden — a reference to CNN’s chief domestic correspondent, who as the network’s chief White House correspondent often interrupted and clashed with Trump.
“They don’t have that,” he said. “And if Jim Acosta were there, he would ask very soft questions, it would be a whole different thing.”
“I noticed [Fox News’] Peter Doocy didn’t get to ask a question today. And there can be no difficult questions, and [White House aides] are ready to rip the microphone away if somebody did get a little bit testy,” he continued.
