Kamala Harris Laughs Awkwardly When Asked if She Plans to Visit the Border

Harris gave her signature awkward laugh after replying: "Not today."

Sometimes it's so easy to focus on Joe Biden and his many flaws, that we forget all about his future successor, Kamala Harris.

That is probably by design.

If vice president Harris stays relatively quiet and doesn't say anything stupid, democrats will have an easy time replacing Joe Biden with her whenever they so choose.

The problem is that Harris does not specialize in being quiet, or in being very smart.

When asked by a reporter if she was planning to visit the border, Harris stumbled her words, replied: "Not today," and then cackled in her usual awkward way.

Fox News has more on this non-laughing matter:

Vice President Kamala Harris laughed while responding to a question from a reporter who asked Monday if she would be visiting the border amid the growing migrant crisis.

While taking questions from reporters outside of Air Force One, Harris was asked if she had "plans to visit" the southern border as the immigration crisis continues to develop.

The vice president responded to the query with a "not today" before laughing. She continued on to say that she had visited "before" and that she probably would go back.

The White House did not immediately respond to Fox News’ question as to whether they thought Harris’ response was appropriate, given the situation at the border that the Biden administration refuses to call a "crisis."

White House press secretary Jen Psaki maintained the Biden administration’s stance during a Monday press conference, referring to the border situation as a "circumstance" and saying that children escaping from persecution in their home countries "is not a crisis."

"Children presenting at our border who are fleeing violence, who are fleeing prosecution, who are fleeing terrible situations is not a crisis," Psaki said. "We feel it is our responsibility to humanely approach this circumstance and make sure they are treated, and put into conditions that are safe."

Here's vice president Kamala Harris laughing when asked about visiting the border:

Remember, this woman is likely the next president.

Even Joe Biden continually refers to her as "President Harris."

Democrats do no take this crisis seriously.

Ted Cruz says the Biden Administration is purposely trying to hide the crisis at the border from the American people.

More on the from the Blaze:

The White House faces criticism from reporters for restricting media access to Customs and Border Protection facilities that are housing thousands of unaccompanied migrant children. Last week, when Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas led a bipartisan delegation of lawmakers to tour the U.S. border, reporters were barred from covering their tour due to "privacy and COVID-19 restrictions."

More than 15,000 migrant children have been detained by the federal government, but the "crowded, makeshift conditions" these children were kept in were not reported until Monday when Axios obtained exclusive photos of kids being kept in cage-like "pods."

In a letter to the president, Sen. Cruz said it was "outrageous and hypocritical" of Biden to bar reporters from access to the situation at the border.

"As part of our oversight duties as Senators, I and 14 of my colleagues will travel to the border this week to talk to the brave men and women on the ground who are working every today [sic] to stop this crisis and secure our border," Cruz wrote.

"But it is not enough for members of the Senate to see what is happening — the American people must see. That is why I requested that members of the media be allowed to join us. But your administration clearly and emphatically refused to offer press access. This is outrageous and hypocritical."

It's clear that republicans are the only ones taking this seriously.
