Governor Andrew Cuomo Press Conference a Total Disaster! Continues to Lie & Point Fingers Amid Nursing Home Scandal

New York’s King Cuomo held his first press conference in wake of the nursing home scandal that revealed his administration lied about the number of COVID-19 patients sent to nursing homes.

And like a typical lying Democrat, the blame continues to be placed on the king’s subjects.

Cuomo still refuses to take any responsibility for his policies and the media continues to cover for the Democrat darling.

But for those not blinded by the fake news, Cuomo’s press conference was an utter disaster that shows what a pathetic governor he has been for New Yorkers.

Here’s some of the outrage on Twitter:

Even far-left Jacobin Magazine took a swipe at King Cuomo:

That should really show you how Cuomo is close to watching his political career go up in flames.

This statement from the NY Senate GOP Leader highlights Cuomo’s epic failure:

So much for those daily pressers that warmed the hearts of media moguls and Democrat elites across the country.

So much for the posters and books that talked about New York doing things “the right way.”

And so much for that Emmy for manipulating the public on television.

King Cuomo has been a failure from the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic and his day of reckoning may soon be approaching.

Today’s press conference was just the tip of the iceberg.

To catch the entire presser, watch below:

But here’s a perfect way to describe it. From King Cuomo himself:

Zero Hedge covered Cuomo’s floundering disaster:

Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s epic President’s Day afternoon press briefing has just wrapped up, and just as we suspected, Cuomo wanted to talk about the groundswell of support in the Empire State to finally dethrone a governor who has survived numerous scandals and primary challengers (not to mention 2.5 terms as governor), about as much as reporters wanted to interrupt their holiday weekend to ask him about it.

But in what was perhaps an encouraging sign, Cuomo was ready, and instead of waiting for reporters to ask the question at a post-briefing Q&A, the governor and his team apparently felt this was big enough to strike first, and launched a fusillade of Cuomo disinformation, a mix of “actually running things is hard”, “do you remember what life was like a year ago?”, with just a pinch of NYS’s in-the-works reopening plan to keep people interested through the first ten minutes.

Before actually working his way up to his office’s claim, Cuomo spun a narrative, which relied on a complicated timeline of the virus’s assault on New York State, with some sobbing about Dr. Fauci and NYS’s top public health official. First, Cuomo tried to distract the press by claiming that the first case of the South African COVID strain had been identified in a New York hospital, but in a patient who had arrived after being “transferred” from neighboring Connecticut.

“To be clear, all deaths in nursing homes and hospitals were fully, publicly and accurately reported,” Cuomo said. “There was a delay in providing the press and the public with providing all that additional information.”

After the big denial, Cuomo continued by warning that the problem with the state’s nursing homes needs to be fixed before the next pandemic, and that hospitals that have “these issues” must be “improved”, or else they might “fail” during the next pandemic. Cuomo also repeated that the DoJ was asking about ‘private’ nursing homes, as if to try and shift more responsibility off the state.

The governor concluded that “I understand the public had many questions and concerns…” but Cuomo and his office were so slammed trying to report data to the DoJ, that the state simply didn’t have time to give the full picture. This, in Cuomo’s terms, irresponsibly created a “vacuum” in which “conspiracy theorists” flourished.

The governor laid it on pretty thick toward the end. Because even with the “best medical professionals and advice on the globe”, “the truth is…with all we know…people still die in nursing homes today…we’re testing the staff twice a week…you would have to hermetically seal the nursing home.”

For review, Cuomo’s real sin was “not providing the information”. That mistake “created a void” in which “conspiracy theorists” flourished and had the gall to question the governor’s handling of the pandemic after somebody gave a hot tape of Cuomo’s chief of staff talking to legislative leaders in political terms.

Fox News added this report:

Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., said Monday that a federal investigation into New York’s handling of data related to coronavirus deaths in nursing homes must move forward immediately.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo, D., and his administration have been heavily criticized for not fully reporting the numbers after Cuomo had directed nursing homes to take in residents who had been hospitalized with COVID-19. The backlash over this policy, which was meant to free up space in hospitals, intensified after a Cuomo aide reportedly admitted that the administration withheld data from the Department of Justice.

“The dam is breaking, you’re seeing overwhelming bipartisan outcry. Democrats … need to grow a spine and stand up for what’s right,” she said on “The Faulkner Focus,” calling Cuomo “the worst governor in America” in handling the pandemic.

REP. ELISE STEFANIK: “You have both Democrats and Republicans calling for an independent investigation. I want to see subpoenas both at the state level, the State Senate and State Assembly should issue subpoenas immediately, and I want the Department of Justice to launch an independent investigation. We know from the partial transcript that was released by the secretary to the governor that there was obstruction of justice.

This is not about politics but people’s lives. What was so shameful about the transcript that was released was the secretary to the governor didn’t apologize for the number of deaths, didn’t apologize for the policy, but apologized for the political fallout for Democrats. It’s a disgrace. President Biden needs to keep to his promise that the Department of Justice will be independent from political pressure from Governor Cuomo, who is a Democrat. But the Department of Justice and law enforcement, this prosecution needs to go forward immediately.

Less than a month ago, state senators blocked subpoenas and blocked state Senate Republicans who wanted to rein in [Cuomo’s] emergency powers. Now the dam is breaking. You see overwhelming bipartisan outcry … Everyone knows Governor Cuomo is a bully. They bully people within their own party. This is more important. We are talking about lives that were lost here, so these Democratic state senators and the Democratic congressional delegation need to grow a spine and grow some political courage and stand up for what’s right, for the people of this state who deserve justice. So we will see those subpoenas and that investigation should be launched immediately. No excuse after last week’s bombshell.

Last week, Secretary to the Governor Melissa DeRosa reportedly said Cuomo’s administration feared the data about COVID-19 deaths could “be used against us” by the Justice Department in the midst of its federal probe initiated against four states regarding nursing home deaths, including New York.
