This is CNN’s Chyron: “Psaki Promises to Share ‘Accurate Info’ (How Refreshing)”

We can’t even make this stuff up…

Can CNN at least TRY to be fair and balanced?

One of the latest chyrons on CNN read:

Psaki Promises to Share “Accurate Info” (How Refreshing)

How refreshing?!

What would be “refreshing” would be CNN actually reporting the news, instead of trying to commentate on everything.

This is beyond parody.

Democrats like to call Fox News biased.

And look, we’re not the best of friends with Fox News right now (for obvious reasons), but at least their chyrons are more “objective” than this apparent propaganda from CNN!

Most people would be embarrassed by the lack of objectivity.

Especially on a “news network.”

But Brian Stelter (clueless as he is) appears to be extremely proud of the obviously biased chyron.

Red State has more details:

Brian Stelter’s show is hardly known for hard hitting, unbiased journalism given who the host and its frequent guests are. It’s one of the most laughable pieces of television on the weekends, reaching levels partisanship that border on parody. Yet, this latest chyron seems a bit excessive. I mean, at least try to keep the mask on, right?

PJ Media’s Stephen Kruiser provides some commentary.

Of course, Psaki has already mislead her slavish audience of journalists in her first week, though. On her second day at the podium, she claimed that the Biden administration has already doubled vaccine distribution in an attempt to defend his COVID plan. She made that statement by relying on averaging the distributions made under the Trump administration. That’s completely dishonest because vaccine distribution had to be ramped up from zero during that time. When Biden took office, Trump handed him a distribution of almost 1 million a day, not the 500,000 a day Psaki claims. That’s basically what we are doing now. In other words, Psaki lies. She just does it in a way that makes the press swoon and gives them the ability to claim she didn’t lie.

Regardless, the shift from hostile proclamations about our democracy being in danger over Kayleigh McEnany to giving Biden’s press secretary a daily tongue bath is certainly jarring. Stelter knows better. He may not be the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to hack cable news hosts, but he’s smart enough to realize that the Biden administration spins things in their favor. That’s as worthy of being called out as it was under Trump, but the sheer partisanship that exists on CNN won’t allow that to happen.

No “journalist” should be taking a press secretary at their word on something like this. Every statement should be analyzed on its own merits and given the requisite coverage it deserves. Stelter isn’t going to do that because he’s the very definition of a political hack. He’s already basically announcing his four year vacation.

This entire episode gets worse though. It wasn’t just some random producer writing a bad chyron this time. Stelter himself appeared on Twitter to take credit.

Beyond parody.

Honestly, we thought that the worst of the media bias might finally be behind us now that President Trump is no longer President.

But it looks like the fake news media is not going anywhere.

Fortunately, many people are already mocking Stelter’s chyron.

Fox News reported:

CNN’s media correspondent Brian Stelter has already vouched for the Biden White House’s relationship with the truth, praising new press secretary Jen Psaki’s “refreshing” commitment to delivering accurate information.

Stelter shared a chyron from Sunday’s episode of his show “Reliable Sources” that read, “Psaki promises to share ‘accurate info’ (How refreshing).” To drive the point home, he tweeted “(How refreshing).”

Stelter made sure to let his Twitter followers know he wrote the graphic about Psaki, a former CNN commentator and longtime Democratic flack. Psaki has pledged to hold daily press briefings, a break from the Trump White House, which essentially mothballed the longstanding practice.

Stelter’s credulousness is part of a pattern from his network and other outlets to preemptively declare the Biden White House a den of truth-telling. CNN White House correspondent John Harwood tweeted that “truth” and “knowledge” were back on the day Biden was inaugurated.

However, CNN has already botched a story using Biden sources. In a widely shared article, the liberal outlet quoted two anonymous sources last week who claimed the Trump administration had left no vaccine distribution plan for its successor, only to be refuted by other reporters and infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Among Stelter’s reliable sources to bolster Psaki’s case was a former colleague of hers in the Obama administration, Jay Carney. After 20 years at TIME Magazine, Carney served as then-Vice President Biden’s communications director from 2009 to 2011 and President Obama’s second press secretary from 2011 to 2014.

“The Biden administration telegraphed early how they were going to be honest,” Carney said. “Instead of spinning, they’ve been clear about COVID-19, that it’s going to get worse before it gets better. Deposits in the integrity bank.”

Stelter spent much of the first week of the Biden administration boosting its communication department and delighting in its departure in tone from the Trump era. He at one point fretted “anti-Democratic media outlets” would “muddy” Biden’s first week with fake scandals. On his first show of the Biden era, he declared that the Biden White House was a “break from the chaos and incompetence of Trump world.”

On his show Sunday, he fretted that Biden’s call for “unity” would be impossible due to a lack of cooperation from right-wing media outlets.

Critics on the right panned Stelter’s “refreshing” language.

If any right-wing outlet had a similar chyron, all of the mainstream news organizations would be mocking it mercilessly.

But because this is CNN, they get a pass.

It appears the left-wing media mafia will continue into the Biden years…
