CAUGHT! DC Mayor Muriel Bowser Ordered Fed Law Enforcement to STAND DOWN Before Protest

The Democrats and the media are blaming President Trump for the mostly peaceful protest in Washington D.C.

Yet…

They haven’t taken a look at the actions of local leaders.

Now, it has been revealed that Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser ordered federal law enforcement to stand down the day before the protest.

This is what Bowser wrote to acting U.S. Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen:

To be clear, the District of Columbia is not requesting other federal law enforcement personnel and discourages any additional deployment without immediate notification to, and consultation with, MPD if such plans are underway.

If the media and Democrats are going to blame anyone, shouldn’t they be looking at the people RESPONSIBLE for security?

Bowser said that the Capitol Police response was a “failure.”

But wasn’t it a “failure” on her part to RESIST calling for additional security, especially when she knew a million protesters would be coming to the city?

Now look at the hypocrisy coming from Bowser herself!

She apparently REFUSED to ask for help.

But now she wants to complain that the response was stronger at the Black Lives Matter protests over the summer.

Talk about dishonesty.

The Hill is one of the reputable sources confirming Bowser’s initial decision to handle the protests alone:

Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) told Justice Department and Pentagon leaders on Tuesday that the city is not requesting federal law enforcement assistance with protests organized by President Trump’s supporters this week.

Bowser addressed a letter to acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen, Secretary of the Army Ryan McCarthy and acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller, in which she requested that officials notify the city and its police department if federal authorities are deployed.

The mayor said federal officials did not provide this notification to the city’s Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) during events last year.

“To be clear, the District of Columbia is not requesting other federal law enforcement personnel and discourages any additional deployment without immediate notification to, and consultation with, MPD if such plans are underway,” she said in the letter.

The mayor pointed to incidents in 2020 when MPD “was expected to perform the demanding tasks of policing large crowds while working around unidentifiable personnel deployed in the District of Columbia without proper coordination.”

“Unidentifiable personnel – in many cases, armed – caused confusion among residents and visitors and could become a national security threat with no way for MPD and federal law enforcement to decipher armed groups,” she wrote.

During the Black Lives Matter protests last summer, military personnel, at least some of whom were not wearing identifiers, extended the perimeter around the White House in the days after law enforcement and demonstrators clashed in the area.

Bowser indicated that MPD “is prepared” for the demonstrations over the next few days and has coordinated with its federal partners, specifically the U.S. Park Police, U.S. Capitol Police and U.S. Secret Service. She noted that these agencies “regularly have uniformed personnel protecting federal assets” in the city.

It was thanks to President Trump and his administration that extra help came to the Capitol Building.

Of course, the fake news media will attempt to “spin” Bowser’s actions.

But they clearly speak for themselves.

The Federalist has more details on what happened leading up to the protest:

Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser told federal law enforcement to stand down just one day before a mob of Trump supporters breached the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, smashing windows, entering the chambers, and forcing lawmakers and congressional staff inside into lockdown.

“To be clear, the District of Columbia is not requesting other federal law enforcement personnel and discourages any additional deployment without immediate notification to, and consultation with, MPD if such plans are underway,” Bowser wrote in a letter to acting U.S. Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen, acting Secretary of Defense Chris Miller, and Secretary of the Army Ryan D. McCarthy.

According to Bowser, D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department in coordination with the U.S. Park Police, Capitol Police, and Secret Sevice were well-equipped to handle whatever problems could come up during the Trump rallies planned for Wednesday.

“The District of Columbia Government has not requested personnel from any other federal law enforcement agencies,” she continued. “To avoid confusion, we ask that any request for additional assistance be coordinated using the same process and procedures.”

Bowser also explained that the presence of “unidentifiable” federal law enforcement agents in D.C. could “cause confusion” and “become a national security threat” because of the lack of distinction between them and “armed groups.”

Despite Bowser’s confidence in her own law enforcement agencies, police were quickly overwhelmed Wednesday afternoon as massive rallies turned to chaotic rioting in the Capitol, forcing calls for backup from President Donald Trump and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

If Bowser were a Republican, is there any doubt that the media would call her actions a “failure?”

Yet…

Because she is a Democrat…

She will get a pass.

The media’s double-standard has got to stop!
