President Trump Orders Troop Withdrawal from Somalia

Trump has issued a new order to withdraw most of the 700 American troops in Somalia by early 2021.

The decision is a huge win for the anti-war crowd as Trump appears to be making good on his word to end the endless wars.

Of course, the warmongers are screaming at the thought of removing Americans from the war-torn country.

It’s surprising how Trump haters don’t like the idea of removing our troops from harm’s way just because Trump did it.

Trump has managed to drastically limit our number of troops in dangerous countries and hasn’t embroiled the country in any new wars.

Politico showed just how much the Deep State hates this latest move to remove our troops from harm’s way:

“The President’s decision to withdraw forces from Somalia is a surrender to al Qaeda and a gift to China,” said Rep. Jim Langevin (D-R.I.), who chairs the House Armed Services Intelligence and Emerging Threats and Capabilities panel.

The withdrawal of U.S. troops could make it harder for aid workers and diplomats on the ground to help resolve conflict peacefully, he said, and could come at a political cost.

“Al Shabaab will message our withdrawal as a victory, which may propel some of their political affiliates into government,” Langevin warned. “All the while, China will seize the opportunity to build their influence in the region, to the detriment of those who care about representative governance and equality.”

ABC News also warned of the doomsday scenario that would happen due to a withdrawal from Somalia:

Despite the reassurance that a counterterrorism mission would continue, Friday’s announcement was met with concern by some security analysts.

Eric Oehlerich, an ABC News contributor and former Navy SEAL with experience in the region, said the threat of al-Qaida and al-Shabab has been reduced thanks to cooperation with African Union countries, but at a price.

“This has come at the cost of American lives and investment,” said Oehlerich. “Reducing our resources in this winnable conflict is a detriment to our African partners in East Africa and will only embolden al-Shabab extremist behavior in the region.”

It is not only U.S. military personnel that are at risk in Somalia. Early last week a CIA paramilitary officer was killed in Somalia, according to an official familiar with the operation. On Thursday, Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, disclosed that the deceased CIA officer had previously served in the military as a Navy SEAL.

It’s obvious the Deep State would rather keep our soldiers abroad forever, but it’s long past time to put their needs above the special interests and military industrial complex.
