2020 has been the most chaotic and uncertain year of most of our lives, and the presidential election has been just as crazy.
The situation in Pennsylvania just keeps going deeper, after a PA judge ruled in favor of President Donald Trump, by haulting the State from certifying the election.
Joe Biden and the Democrats were not happy with Judge Patricia A. McCullough, who made the ruling on Friday.
According to Judge McCullough, “petitioners appear to have established a likelihood to succeed” with their lawsuit.
The judge is already being targeted by the media for her ruling.
A Pennsylvania judge who tried to halt additional steps needed to certify the state's 2020 election results said the Pennsylvania legislature's expansion of mail-in voting, enacted over a year earlier, was likely illegal.
Commonwealth Court Judge Patricia McCullough's Nov. 25 order was blocked by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court while it considers the case, filed by state Republicans led by U.S. Representative Mike Kelly, on an expedited basis.
The case is unrelated to one brought by President Donald Trump's campaign, rejected by a federal appeals court on Friday, that sought to undo Pennsylvania's certification of President-elect Joe Biden's victory in the Keystone State.
McCullough's opinion, posted Friday night, doesn't add anything to the GOP-brought case as a practical matter, but provides the judge's reasoning for having ordered a temporary delay.
Her ruling has been one of the few wins for Republicans and the Trump campaign in a flurry of litigation across several battleground states following the Nov. 3 election.
This legal battle continues to wage on, and despite the blockades set up by Democrats, this is a battle that President Trump will win.
CBS Pittsburgh has more on the delay:
There was more legal action in court Wednesday after the certification on Tuesday that Joe Biden won Pennsylvania by over 80,000 votes.
On Wednesday morning, a Commonwealth Court judge ordered the state to temporarily stop the further certification of election results for president and all down-ballot races.
That brought swift reaction from state officials.
Thanksgiving hasn’t stopped the lawyers and judges from opinions, motions, briefs and appeals.
Commonwealth Court Judge Patricia McCullough, a Republican, agreed with Republicans Mike Kelly and Sean Parnell and enjoined or stopped further state certifications of election winners until a Friday hearing. That brought an immediate appeal to the state Supreme Court.
“It’s not unusual for a judge in a normal case sometimes to put a case on hold so you can have an evidentiary hearing, which is scheduled for Friday. It is highly unusual and inappropriate to do that in an election case,” Cliff Levine, attorney for the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, told KDKA political editor Jon Delano on Wednesday.
This election process has become a complete travesty of justice in American politics.
The founding fathers are likely turning in their graves.
As long as good people are willing to fight for justice though, we will win.
