Just over a month before the 2020 presidential election, Joe Biden is asking President Donald Trump to step down as president.
Biden made the comments at the CNN town hall just outside of Scranton, PA on Thursday.
Does Joe have so little confidence in himself that he’d desperately ask such a thing now?
To be fair, I’m not sure sleepy Joe even knows where he is most of the time.
This level of self awareness just doesn’t seem like something he’s capable of at this point.
Who knows though, maybe he had a moment of clarity and realized that’s the only way President Trump isn’t around for another four years.
Yahoo News with Biden's desperate plea:
‘You’ve got to level with the American people — shoot from the shoulder,’ he said, blasting Trump’s handling of COVID-19.
Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said President Donald Trump should “step down” because of his administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.
In an outdoor CNN town hall just outside Biden’s hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania, the former vice president called Trump’s downplaying of the pandemic “totally irresponsible.”
“The idea that you’re going to not tell people what you’ve been told, that this virus is incredibly contagious, seven times more contagious than the flu; you breathe the air, you get it sucked in your lungs. He knew it and did nothing. It’s close to criminal,” Biden said of Trump, talking to moderating host Anderson Cooper.
“You’ve got to level with the American people — shoot from the shoulder. There’s not been a time they’ve not been able to step up. The president should step down,” Biden contended to applause from small sets of groups assembled Thursday night.
Biden Town Hall: Trump 'should step down as president'
Biden cited masks as one of the reasons Trump should step down.
The Hill with more:
Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said President Trump should step down over his coronavirus response during a town hall just outside of Scranton, Pa., on Thursday evening.
"This is all about one thing, the stock market. He doesn't want to see anything happen," Biden said, answering a question about how he would get the right messaging out to Americans on how to protect themselves amid the pandemic.
"It's all about his reelection. It should be about the American people, and they're in trouble," he continued, before citing Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Robert Redfield's recent comments urging Americans to wear masks in an effort to stop the spread of the virus.
“You’ve got to level with the American people — shoot from the shoulder. There’s not been a time they’ve not been able to step up. The president should step down,” Biden said.
Biden may want to consider his own advice and step down before the election.
We already know he's planning on doing it after...
