Mike Bloomberg Announces He’ll Spend Up To $100 Million for Biden in Florida

We always hear from Democrats how they don’t like big donors spending money in political campaigns.

Well, unless it’s a contribution to a Democrat!

Just today, Mike Bloomberg,  a former Democrat presidential candidate, announced he’ll be spending $100 million of his own money in Florida to swing the state to Biden.

Fox News reports on the breaking story:

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s onetime rival, billionaire Mike Bloomberg, will spend $100 million to get Biden elected in Florida.

“Voting starts on Sept. 24 in Florida so the need to inject real capital in that state quickly is an urgent need,” Bloomberg adviser Kevin Sheekey said in a statement. “Mike believes that by investing in Florida it will allow campaign resources and other Democratic resources to be used in other states, in particular the state of Pennsylvania.”

Bloomberg ran against Biden in the 2020 Democratic primary and dropped out of the race in March after his record spending failed to yield any wins on Super Tuesday beyond a single victory in the American Samoa caucuses.

The money will be funneled through Bloomberg’s super PAC Independence USA and other Democratic organizations.

Bloomberg’s team told the Washington Post he is planning to spend “nine figures” and wants to inspire other megadonors to pour money into the Biden campaign. The money will be mainly spent on television ads in English and Spanish, The Washington Post reported.

The billionaire and former Republican mayor of New York City made the decision after news that Trump was open to spending his own money on the race, The Washington Post reported.

The announcement comes days after the Cook Political Report moved Florida from its “Lean Democrat” to “Toss Up” category.

While $100 million is a lot of money, it's not even close to what Bloomberg spent on his presidential bid to get zero votes.

Suffice it to say, Bloomberg isn't a very good better!

President Trump tweeted his reactions to the news about Bloomberg's spending, as detailed by the New York Post:

President Trump on Sunday took a shot at Michael Bloomberg for pledging to spend $100 million in support of Joe Biden in Florida, telling the former Big Apple mayor to use his billion-dollar fortune to “save NYC instead.”

“I thought Mini Mike was through with Democrat politics after spending almost 2 Billion Dollars, and then giving the worst and most inept Debate Performance in the history of Presidential Politics. Pocahontas ended his political career on first question, OVER!,” the president said on Twitter, using his nickname for former Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

“Save NYC instead,” he added.

The billionaire media mogul, who ended his own presidential run last March after spending $1 billion on his four-month campaign, will pour the funds into the Sunshine State to give the former vice president a financial edge in the swing state that is now a toss-up between Trump and Biden.

Moments later, Trump questioned how Bloomberg made his billions.

“In the highly competitive world of high tech, how come nobody has ever challenged Mini Mike Bloomberg and his very average, & supposedly outdated, ‘stuff’ that he sells to so many? Did he use his position as Mayor of New York to create what is now a monopoly? Just askin’?,” he said, without offering any evidence.
